Hi Kim~

Congrats on becoming the new Quilting Editor. My daughter, Angela, sent me a link the the BellaOnline website this evening and I decided to join the forum.

I have been quilting (or playing at it) for about 8 years or so ago. Angela and I are best quilting buddies long distance now that she is in Nebraska and I am in Ohio.

I am learning to do needle turn applique thru my guild, but I am not crazy about it. I have a Pfaff Quilt Expressions 2046 in layway and one day plan to become a machine appliquer. I like to paper piece and just to piece in general.

Right this moment my main project is making pillowcases to send to Iraq. I was an Air Force wife for 24 years and my youngest son is in the AF. Forutantely he hasn't been deployed so far.

This seems a bit disjointed, so forgive me. I just wanted to say "hello".

Lacy

Hi Lacy,

It is very nice to meet you. How wonderful that you and your daughter have quilting in common. I'm hoping that my 5 yr old will grow to love it and we can do projects together when she is older. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I'm still working on needleturn applique...it does take lots of practice to get the hang of it and I've got to put some more time into my technique. Sounds like you'll have lots of fun with your new machine! I've spent a lot of time this summer doing machine applique and have really enjoyed it.

Tell me more about the pillowcase project that you are involved with. Sounds like a wonderful cause.
