I find that food has a HUGE HUGE impact on my entire outlook on life. If I sleep well and eat well, the entire world seems fun and something I can handle. If I'm not sleeping well and not eating well, the world can seem a dark place that is a giant struggle.

Because I have Type II Diabetes and want to keep it under control so that (1) I can lose weight; (2) I can live longer; (3) I don't lose my eyesight, limbs, etc.; (4) have more energy, etc., etc., etc.
It makes me feel good. I have more energy and generally feel better about myself when I eat healthy. Also, I want to keep my weight down and I figure the best way to do that is to eat right and exercise.
Eating healthy has made a huge impact on my family's life. We are never sick, even with a cold. We eat lots of fruits and veggies (organic when possible) lean meats, baked or steamed, lots of grains and rice.
I can't even eat fast food now as it gives me an upset stomach. Once you begin eating this way, your body craves it and you don't even want the junk food.
Eating healthy is the very best way to lose weight and keep it off!
Eating healthy also helps you avoid supposed "age-related" diseases. The statistics show most people WILL live to be old. It's how you live when you get there that's important.
