Victoria - the 8 to 13 pounds offered in the first 2 weeks of a diet is really the 'maximum' and is what a very heavy person could lose. Since you don't have that much to lose it would be incredibly unhealthy to lose that much percentage of your body weight at once! Five pounds is quite reasonable and healthy for you, so you should be proud of losing that
We'll do all we can to support you! Really the keys are avoiding sugar foods, drinking lots of water, taking your vitamins and doing that exercise, even walking around. Those are the keys to ANY diet, not just a low carb one, and are things I think we all can agree are good for you I definitely know MANY people who have lost weight and kept it off healthily on a low carb diet. Low carb isn't about bacon and fat. It's about avoiding sugar, avoiding white bread, taking vitamins, drinking water, and eating healthy fresh vegetables, fish, chicken etc.
