Get together in the local pub (hic) and form a swap club for seeds and cuttings.

People change there gardens and get fed up with some of their plants grab them or they go on the compost heap.

A letter to a parish mag is good too

You can often get great deals using coupons online. More often than not, the retailers offer better discounts if you order online: Michigan Bulbs - Save $20 off $50 Order, Brecks Bulbs - Free $25 off $50 Order or More

I used coupons to save over $40, and when you buy shrubs, bulbs, trees, sod and more, you can really see the savings. I didn't used to be frugal, but let's face it, the current financial environment makes us rethink our spending habits. Anyway, if you can benefit from them, try them.

I am a big library nut. TONS of books on gardening. We grow tons of stuff. And when I come across a book I really really like I go to half.com and buy it cheap.
