Good Morning,

The body is art. It has been painted, sculpted and drawn for millenia. It doesn't need anything else to be beautiful, except in my case it needs clothes. <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Usefuleness of a thread. Sounds like censorship because someone diagrees.I think it was very useful because folk shared opinions in a non-violent fashion. I'm for/I'm against. Guess that's NOT what bella is really all about. It's a look at it my way or the highway place. Sigh

Anyhow, enjoy your infections and tips to deal with them. Oh, and before I go. That greenish, redddish, blusish bloob on your boob. That was a tattoo many years ago. It's gonna look real nice when your older <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Just ask any old guy with a tattoo on his arm.

Didn't intend to upset anyone. I do enjoy a good thread though

Peace, Love, Dove

Hey, Jessica! queen <waves at exhausted con mama> Didn't think we'd see you while the convention was going!

At this point, a few things are apparent to me.

This thread is my experiment with not deleting. I don't understand all these comments about people doing body art not wanting to compete visually with others, or folks who are bored with too much time on their hands. <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I work as a freelance web designer and writer in one of the most expensive cities in the USA, during a crashing job market. Extra time and money are two things that run pretty short around here. Local attitudes happen to be such that how you look is how you look, and there are plenty of people in the Bay Area both with and without body art across the entire spectrum (age, race, density of body art, etc.)

I do go on dates and have lovers, so I don't get the non-competitive/attractiveness thing. I feel my body art has to do with the fact that I just don't feel right looking like everyone else. I am attracted to people based on who they are, not on their body art, and have had partners who also had body art and some who didn't.

There is one thing that does ring true with each man I've ever had an intimate relationship with in my life. They all were/are attracted to my body art.

And there is this one other thing too: no women ever write to me on the web or in email and tell me they don't like my body art. Only guys. LOL!

I hope you don't mind if I post here but I happen to know 1 very hot, good looking man who has 2 tatoos, and approx 6 face piercings, oops I better add the ear piercings so that would be 10 face piercings. It is my 21 year old son. Maybe it's because I am his mother but he looks good to me and he has in the past dyed his hair, blue, green, and red (the red didn't turn out so good). I do not find body art or piercings offensive in any way and as a matter of fact after I get my stomach back into shape I will be getting my belly button pierced !!! Thank goodness I was taught not to judge a book by it's cover!! lovers

wowwwww @ all the drama!! This is pretty funny. Everyone has an opinion about what everyone else is doing i guess. Personally, I've seen tattoos i've loved and ones that i've hated, just like anything else in this world. It's like when someone paints their house or names their baby, some love it, some say ewwwwwww are you outta your mind? I got my first tattoo right at 18, and proceeded to get 3 more after that, and my tongue pierced. I've had my hair blonde, brown, red and eggplant. I love it! right now i'm back to blonde, because my kids are blonde and i like that we look alike, but i had a blast trying out new looks. And Sam i'd like to say to you, I am not hiding anything, nor sabotaging my looks because i can't compete. I've modeled thru my whole teen/adult life and am quite content with all aspects of my appearance, i've gota link in my profile if you'd like to see. I am happily married and have been with my georgous tattoo'd hubby for 14 yrs. We are full time parents, and hold down very successful jobs, and own 2 homes. Having tattoos or piercing or playing with your hair only means one thing, YOU LIKE IT! tattoos can mean so many things to so many ppl. dont judge them. i dont have a skull and crossbones, or an anchor on my breast. i have a beautiful angel that i got when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer that showed her my support. Tattoos, just like ppl with them, can be beautiful.

Hi!! -(waves calmly at the group wearing leather and the group wearing dockers)

I am the Christianity Host...before ya get scared, no I'm not quoting my Bible today...I want to speak about the topic here...

I have a tatoo...it's a beautiful dolphin riding a wave and it's on my ankle on the outside. A friend of mine gave it to me. He did beautiful work until he died. I feel honored to have it and am proud of it. I grew up in Huntington Beach california nad around the streets of Venice back when it was a safe place to hang out...lol... so when I see people who express themselves with tats and piercings and wild hair...believe it or not I feel at home. Back in the day, as my son says, my waist length hair was considered wild. It is kind of curly and I wore it wild. I just let it go and my mom always wanted me to brush it or pull it back. I never did and it was always full of salt from the ocean. I was very clean because I was always swimming. There were always some people who looked at me in my car with the surf racks and my bathing suit instead of a bra and thoguht "geez, if she'd only clean herself up she'd be cute". But I was me and I'm still me. I guess I find body art cool and interesting because i grew up around people who did it, some of them even let me crash ar their house because I had no place to go and one of them was the first guy to love me without strings, he just loved me for me and he left his mark on my ankle and I will treasure it forever.

Hi, my name is Thomas. I know this is a girls site but i happen to be browsing one night and saw this post. Not to be rude but SAM, you seem to be a one sided person, and in my opinion that already makes you UNATTRACTIVE, and if you take that personally, sorry, so did i when you said people with piercings can't be attractive. I only have three piercings(tounge, chin, eyebrow)but i have piercings none-the-less. You are obviously confused on the true meaning of beauty. Beauty is persons body in general, in no way do piercings tattos, what-have-you, take away, or in that case add to that persons beauty. Piercing tatooing...etc. is a person self expression of his or her own beauty, and who are you to put them down, and degrate them by saying they(now that they have a piercing) can no longer be attractive? Feel foolish yet? If not we go back to the TOPIC of you being a one sided person, you see things your way, and are very UN-open-minded. You stick to your beliefs and in no-way make an attempt to understand people or why they do the things they do. So I'm sorry to be so blunt, but you are UNATTRACTIVE. I hope maybe this post will give you some insight into an (guote from you)"UNATTRACTIVE" persons opinion.

Some people think pale plain Janes are attractive, and others find beauty in other expressions...including makeup, perms, hair straightening, hair accessories, jewelry, etc. If you like the Amish look, more power to you. Don't look at anything but.

Personally, I have no body art or piercings (although I almost streaked my hair blue last year! Bought the dye and everything!), but I admire it on others. Some are more beautiful than othes, and some are yukky...just like anything. But I love the expression of individuality and beautification that comes in the way of body art and hair dyeing.

Now extreme forms of implants, filing the teeth, face tattoos, etc. is not my idea of beautiful, but hey! that's just me.

Ulimately, I think a person's inside is what makes them beautiful. You can have a gorgeous person on the outside, but once they speak, it all goes to pot. It's the inside that enhances any body type or genetic presentation. That's my take, anyway.
