Hi people i had my belly button pierced, and about two months after it got really red and then a lump on it. I was told this was nothing bad, and it is now improving greatly. It is still quite red but nothin like it was, and no more lump. So fingers crossed

I don't get the poll part of your question, Tracy, especially since you put two "none" options as our possible votes.

Navel piercings are some of the angriest body piercings, really! eek Navels can take a year or more to heal, and this is pretty much the experience for at least half the folks who decide to get this piercing.

Redness can last for a long time, and often belly button piercings are red although they feel fine. They can also be red, hotly swollen and weeping and be healing well. The bulk of the piercing community has learned that less is more when it comes to navels: use the simplest cleansing method you can, often just taking hot water soaks will help it better than a fancy antibiotic ointment.
