Any suggestions on some very good, yet relatively simple reading dog training books? I was thinking of getting "Dog Training for Dummies," is that any good?

Anyway, my Lucy is in despereate need of some serious dog training. Everything she does is bad. She's constantly eating shoes, pooping in the wrong places, eating her poop, rolling in her poop, refusing to eat her dog food, knocking over her water bowl, damaging any property she encounters, and digging holes outside (never in the dirt areas, always in the nice garden areas).

Yup, she is one busy dog. She has a one-milli-second attention span (I seriously think she has dog ADD, if there's such a thing), she thinks all the time is playtime, and now she won't even let anyone pet her. All she wants to do is bite (in I guess a playful way). She never comes when you call her, and since you can't even get her attention for even a second (not even food gets her attention), there's no way I can teach her anything. Since I hear dog training is around $300, I guess dog training books are all I can rely on <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I really find training techniques by David Dikeman to be very useful. I dont have books by him but I do have many training videos of his.

our two toy poodles are starting to get a bit out of hand? attacking the letterbox when the postman comes, barking there heads off, and misbehaving, they need to be helped so tommorrow when i go into the city im going to get a sonic dog whistle to train them on, it will stop their mischief before it gets any worse , they are proper cheeky monkeys. there are books on this type of training from any decent pet stores.
