We recently discovered that our cockapoo Callie (age 10) loves raw tomatoes and kettle corn! We brought some kettle corn home from a local arts & crafts festival and after she had her first "taste" she threw a royal fit when she didn't get some more immediately.....I believe we have created a monster! I cannot express in words the joy we have discovered in adopting this senior dog. Callie was 8 when we adopted her, and probably would have spent the rest of her life at the humane society if she hadn't stolen my heart. I think I've found a new mission in life - the "unwanted seniors".

Our now 8yo, rescued at 4yo, greyhound has become addicted to gingersnaps. Go figure.

My dog would steal tea bags out of the trash when we had an open trash container. We had to buy a closed one when he would eat the tea bags on the carpet. Tough stains to get out!

i couldn't begin to list weird things my dogs have eaten over the years....... favourite foods include green peppers, mandarin oranges, carrots, pick their own berries of any type (the Norrbottenspets), hats, underwear, my husbands glasses twice, duck eggs fresh from the duck(the lab). when they x rayed the male Norrbottenspets puppy for his hips he had 3 builders staples in his intestine- that one's a keeper. i thought he was dying when he pooped those out!

I know this isnt something eaten by my dog, but this, to me was weird - Are there anyone's dogs that like human perfumes/scents?
My Bichon Frise LOVED to rub against me after I had sprayed my perfume.
It sort of dawned on me what he was doing that one evening before I was going out with some friends....I was dressing to go and he was jumping around like mad - barking and running and trying to get me to pick him up. I sat down on the bed and he jumped into my lap...just rubbing away....then he would hop a few steps away and smell his side where it had come into contact with me...this happened over and over.
After I figured this out, I bought a small bottle of Eau De Cologne in the same scent as my perfume and diluted it in a spray bottle about half and half with distilled water.
From then on - Whenever I would brush or bathe him at home, I would give him a tiny spritz on his back.....it was his happy-happy-joy-joy "tail wagging" moment each day and was abviously a treat for him. Who knew that dogs liked to smell good??

My daughter's chihuahua eats electronic equipment. She has eaten her cell phone twice and had chewed the cord to the laptop and the vaccum cleaner. One night my daughter put the laptop and cords in the case and laid it by the chair. She fell asleep in the chair and Kitti (yes that's the dog's name) opened the case, took out the cords, chewed them up, and put them in her lap. That was a pretty expensive lesson so my daughter is a lot more careful now where she lays her stuff.

Our dogs eat just about anything! Love fruit and veggies especially carrots. When I had Guinea Pigs it was always a case of a bit for the pigs and a bit for the dogs, they loved cabbage stalks.
Finn loves to eat his soft toys and ropes - he'll chew away and pull bits off, thankfully they've always passed through him!
My lurcher Mac has found some old birch tree branches where we walk and they must have been slightly rotten or affected by insects as he found them absolutely irresistable. He would chew and eat the wood and wouldn't let any of the other dogs near his sticks! Very strange.

We just got a new doggy a beagle mix puppy who is 8 months old. She eats ear plugs, earrings, beads, water bottle caps, pencils, pens and any tissue she can digout of the garbage.
Here is her picture. [imageBellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. If you don't know how to do UBB code just post here for help - we will help out!

What a gorgeous sweet face your beagle has! They are my favorite breed of dog; I had a beagle mix growing up, and he was personality plus! Such sweeties... <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
The dog who owns me (Kaya) is a mix...not sure of what, but I've been asked many times if she is part Australian Cattle Dog, and even more often, I've been asked if she is a dingo. She has a voracious appetite for anything that resembles food; in fact, when I adopted her from the Humane Society she had many 'food issues' to be worked out. She would quite literally try to remove your hand if you put it anywhere near her when she was eating. Now, thankfully, she has manners (though given a pig's ear, she will revert back to old issues).
I find that Kaya will dine on lots of things that many other dogs would turn their noses up at. Some of Kaya's favorites: oranges; apple slices; avocado (though she's not allowed to have it); salad of any kind; tofu; grapes; raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries (all taken right from the bush); and something a bit less appealing...my rabbits' droppings and/or my cats' droppings, if she is sneaky enough to access them.
She will steal any food item if left too close to the edge of a counter. One evening I happened to be walking past my bedroom door right after dinner and saw Kaya standing in the middle of my room. I thought it a bit odd, wondering what she was doing, so I stuck my head in to see...only to see Kaya literally project a hamburger from her mouth as soon as she noticed me. It went flying right across the room, landing with a thud against the wall. Apparently she saw the one leftover hamburger sitting in the pan on the stove and snagged it. But as soon as she spit it out she looked at me as if to say, "What? I didn't do anything..."
