Here is the best way to find what you are looking for:
a).To find the chocobo trainer:
-go to the northwestmost part of the map in Calm Lands. Look for the lady riding in the chocobo. Talk to her and say that you want to train the chocobo. Train the woobly chocobo, be sure to make him run straight. Now, after training the first chocobo, you can ride it aound the calm lands just by asking the trainer.
*note: just beside the trainer is an Al Bhed primer!
*note: after the battle with sin, the trainer will be seen near the Al Bhed post camp. The circular thing on the map.
b.)Finding the Cloudy Mirror:
-ride the chocobo, then look on the map and go to the part were you enter the calm lands. Look for the chocobo feather on the ground examine it, then the chocobo will fly. Enter the gorge, and you will see this large temple. Do not go inside, instead, go to the side and examine the blue-orb thing. Now you are to race the champion chocobo.
Just go right in and do not mind those poles and chest. When you win, you will receive the Cloudy Mirror.
*note: The Cloudy Mirror is then needed to be transform into the Celestial Mirror, which you will need to acquire their legendary weapons!
