Since Anima has always been a mystery of what she really is supposed to be, well Dusan and me saw Gothika and it's explained in that movie!!!

Anima came from the biblical symbol the "Anima Sole". It's a chained woman in purgatory awaiting her faith, but I have no idea why Seymours mother was the fayth for Anima.

C'est tout

Anima comes from the word "soul" in Latin and Italian. Many FF names are either Italian or Latin words. Like:

Via Infinito (Iinfite Road)
Via Purifico (Purify Road)
Machina (Machine)
Dio (God)
Ultima (the Last)
Omega (Ok, this is ancient Greek. The last letter)

and others I do not recall now.

Still, yes, the Anima aeon should be made after the Anima Sole as you described.

Yup, correct. Anima Sola. Check

I was pretty puzzled as well by the meaning of that Aeon. Now it makes sense.

It's sorta freeky when you think about it!!! I dun like la Purgatory eek remember when Seymour uses Anima in the blitzball stadium, Anima's eye bleeds when she casts her "Pain" attack. Maybe it's supposed to mean that Anima is paying for her sins untill she can go to heaven.

But this Marinette they also mention, she is bloodthirsty and violent, maybe that's the bottom side of Anima!!! She's quite...evil looking
