Whats the best way to take these mothers out? <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I have gotten kind of frustrated cause they are so fast they just kill me like no time [email]f@!%ing[/email] flat. Someone tell me how please.

p.s. I think its really [censored] you can't go past 99 in FFX2. It really sucks. at least in FFX1 you could max your stats through the sphere grid. How can I get Break Damage limit and HP abilities for my characters excluding special dress spheres?

Well, before floor 80 they can be avoided. But if your just determined to run into them, make sure you have Cat Nipped equipped (you would have obtained it from the Black Element on floor 40) and be in yellow health, then use a Gunner with Trigger Happy Lvl3 already learned to kill him pretty quickly.

(Most guides actually tell you to escape from floor 81 thru 100)

How to Avoid Red Dragons & Mega-Tonberries:

Save yourself time by always checking to the left or behind you when you first enter a new floor.

Red Dragons:

When the Red Dragon is in the middle of the floor, head to the left and jump on the raised stone to activate two jumping stones over the dragon.

When he's jumping out of the wall, wait for him to jump back in then run, sometimes he'll be in two places on one floor, just wait for him again.

If you have Cat Nip, (which you get for defeating the Black Element at 40), equip it in case of emergency and remember who has it. If you end up having to fight one of these things, get that girl yellow, then have her use gems to do 9999 damage - Or use a gunner with trigger happy lvl 3. (Just don't use fire gems against the red dragon - you'd heal it.)

Also you'll start running into Mega-Tonberrys, really - really difficult to live through. Avoid whenever possible.

Mega Tonberries:

If your on the floor where he's in the section the to the right, stay as far to the left as you can and walk right past him.

If your on the floor where he's in the middle thing and you had to jump backwards, Then after the little tonberry fight the wall behind you raises and the lift disappears. CAREFULLY walk up that wall, and jump to the step against the wall. If you miss or jump to far you'll have to fight it, if not then you won't. You'll be able to go to the next floor by going to the left after climbing back over the wall.

If your on the floor where you had to walk up a narrow path and it looks like he's waiting there for you, wait for him to turn around and then continue to the left under the bridge, (NOT past the Mega-Tonberry). At the end of this floor there are 3 tonberries, the Mega in the middle and the two little one's on each end. Fight the little tonberries on the end and then the Mega-Tonberry in the middle one will be gone, giving you the exit to the next floor.

If your on the floor where all you see are Tonberrys, step lightly -(around them)! If you run into one, you will have to fight it AND the Mega-Tonberry, You need to step on the raised stones at the edges and find the one that will give you the exit to the next floor.


Be sure to have Cat Nip equiped at ALL TIMES in case of an accident.

BHPL & BDL really won't do you much good in this game, but both are available on rare GG's and if you've viewed the camera lens in Kilika Port in 1,3&5 you can go over and get an accessory. (BDL I think)

for both of them you need auto protect(elder drake)and autoe shel(for mega tonberry)oh and try to have high deffenc and magic deffence to even if you have 99999 hp dont use bhl oh and mega tonberry kill 16 of them and encounter mega and make sure he uses cry in the night for gunmage but carful try two or one for safety at a time
