Welcome to the forum, Ginger!
If you're pregnant, this might be one of those "reality" dreams. Particularly in the last trimester, many pregnant moms have frightening dreams about losing or damaging their babies. My recurring pregnant dream was losing the baby in a laundromat, and I had my own washer and dryer, so go figure. I also dreamed that I accidentally broke my baby's leg off
But intuitively, on this one I'm picking up that the baby has more to do with you. Besides being the place of birth and gestation, the womb is also a place of rest and sanctuary. I feel that the baby is crying for something she needs for her own spirit. A part of her is not being nurtured and she is trying to get your attention.
Whether or not you are pregnant, if you have other children and many demands placed on you, you may be - and probably are - neglecting yourself physically and spiritually. Carl Jung associated children in dreams as a forgotten part of childhood - in your case, it may be that part that needs to play, free from worry and secure in the knowledge that she is being taken care of. If you are are under financial stress, the baby may be expressing your worry through her cries.
Children also symbolize the "divine child" who is progressing toward ultimate spiritual development.
Why do I keep referring to the baby as female....
Pay attention to the dreams you have in the next few weeks. If you have others relating to these themes without babies involved, then my intuition is correct in pointing to your need for self-care.
If you have other "pregnancy nightmares," then you just might be having the third trimester tizzies. However, it's likely that they're a combination of both.
May all your dreams come true!
