Yes, if you use the guide I mentioned from Gamefaqs, it DOES work. I used it on my very first game and got 100%, so I can verify that it does work. But you have to use the specific guide I mentioned, I'm not sure about anybody else's guide.
The guide I mentioned lists everything you have to do, and has many whole number % checkpoints throughout the game, so that you can easily tell if you've got the correct % so far.
And the Brady Guide is unusually bad for FFX2. Ppl have said that the Bradyguide is always really good and helpful, but for FFX2, it's completely misleading.
For example, when you first meet Maechen in Mushroom Rock, he starts talking and you get two options on screen throughout his speech--"Please continue" or "Please stop." For 100%, you're not suppossed to press anything at all. But in the Brady Guide it says to "tell Maechen to continue." So if you follow the guide and press "Please Continue," that will alter his speech and cause you to not get 100%.
And that's just one example. There were so many other frustrations with the Brady Guide...The only good thing about the guide is the pictures. And the guide does say "Official" on it, but to me that means nothing. It sucks!
So yeah, just use the walkthroughs from Gamefaqs. Or if you insist on getting the Bradyguide, also use gamefaqs guides so you can double check throughout your game. The guides on gamefaqs tell you everything you need to know using simple, plain english, unlike the Bradyguide which doesn't tell you everything you need to know, and uses mysteriously vague and misleading english.
