Probably most ppl already know all this, but I know there are some who do not. So I'm just gonna post all the tricks I know to make FFX2 SOOOO much easier. Please post if you know more tips/tricks for FFX2!
********************************************* Gunner's Gauntlet: If you just want to get 500 points for that Besaid Mission, just read the part about finding that blindspot and ignore the rest. But if you want to score 2800 points and get the Adamantite Accesory then read the entire thing below.
Tips: -First, you must be on lvl 6, so you can kill the Bicocette (the small purple shell fiend with the yellow stuff on its back) to get Volley Shot ammo -Then, it's recommended that you be on lvl 7 or 8, just because the amount of fiends are higher and you can get points quicker/easier The trick: -So you go along and if possible, kill fiends and get some ammo. If you get some volley shot, don't use it yet. If you keep getting hurt and your chain breaks, just run. -Keep going till you pass the two bridges, and come to a long stretch of road that has some more waterfalls. At the very last waterfall in that area, if you stand towards the railings towards the bottom of your screen, while under the waterfall, there is a glitch and YOU CANNOT GET HURT EVER! -So what you do is, with your volley shot, you keep pressing circle as many many fiends keep running past you. Every fiend that ran past will now be marked to be shot (cause you pressed circle). You finally shoot when a Bicocette runs by you. -So you pick up the volley shot ammo left by the Bicoccette and repeat. After a few rounds of this, you should have over 2800 points easy. Adamantite is yours.
******************************************** Lightning Towers: If you successfully calibrate any 5 towers and at least attempt all the other towers, you will get the samurai's honor GG. If you successfully calibrate the #10 tower, you will get the Ribbon accessory later.
How to calibrate all of Yuna's memory towers: Have a pen in hand and a paper ready. Write down the buttons as they appear on screen. When you have to input, just look at your paper and input the buttons you wrote down.
How to calibrate the #10 tower: Do the same writing down thing as above, only when you input, remember to input the buttons in backwards order (imo the 10th tower is the easiest bc it goes really slow towards the end).
******************************************** Sphere Break: I already posted this in another thread but oh well. Basically, the trick is to always use 3 coins in every turn (coin count echoes). But the following trick goes one step further by also eliminating the clock. Use this if the clock is a problem for you.
Easy method to beat Shinra without the timer:
When the pause screen comes on that says Turn:1, DON'T press x yet. Keep the screen paused, then, write down the numbers 2-9 on a piece of paper. These numbers represent all the possible core numbers that might show up. Just go down the line, and make one possible equation for each possible core number. You make the equations by looking at all the coins on screen (duh).
Each equation should use three coins exactly. One gold coin from the middle, and two silver ones from the outer edges. I won in 9 turns using 3 coins in each turn, so just make sure every equation uses exactly 3 coins.
Just keep repeating this entire process before every turn, when the pause screen comes up. If you want it to go by faster, you should do a 4 coin count instead of 3.
To help you even more, use a calculator to keep adding up 3 coins and seeing if they make mulitples of whatever possible core number you're working on. Also, if you have trouble remembering your multiples, just get a multiplication chart and refer to that. As long as Shinra's core number doesn't keep giving you ones, you should be able to get ladyluck ds in no time. This method may take longer, but it is a no-fail and no-stress method.
******************************************* Paragon and Trema: This is how I did it.
Yuna--first as lady luck, later switched to gunner, catnip, speed bracer, highroad winds GG, HP in yellow (critical) status, lvl 99 Rikku--Alchemist, Adamantite, Crystal Bangle, valiant luster GG, HP around 5000, lvl 99 Paine--Dark Knight, Defense Bracer, Crystal Bangle, Valiant Luster GG, HP 9999, lvl 99
Paragon Battle Start: Have Yuna bribe Paragon for 800,000 gil (or, to be safe, 1.2 mil gil). He will leave battle and give you at least 10 dark matters. If he is oversouled, he will give you 20 dark matters. Battle over!
Trema Battle Start: Have Yuna switch to gunner ds. When Rikku's turn comes up, have her mix a dark matter with a holy water (or a dark matter mixed with anything works too). That makes the entire party totally invincible for at least two or three turns. Nothing can hurt them. During this time, have Yuna trigger happy (lvl 3) Trema. But after a few turns, have Rikku mix another dark matter and holy water to make sure the party stays invincible. Keep shooting Trema till he dies. For me, it took about 4 turns of Yuna shooting till Trema was dead. I used only 2 dark matters.
******************************************* Capturing Cactuars/Defeating Frailea: If you capture Frailea and defeat her in that shooting minigame, you get the Covenant of Growth GG, which gives you double AP and double EXP.
-Frailea is the cactuar that has his/her mouth open all the way. The other two cactuars have the tops of their mouths not all the way open/round. Get into the pattern and shoot a split second before you know Frailea will come up. Take your time and always press R1 after you hit Frailea just in case he/she shoots needles at you.
***************************************** Dancing Minigame: This is the one where you and Rikku have a split screen and you have to watch the buttons. Here's a glitch-Keep pressing all four buttons (o, x, triangle, square) as fast as you can at the same time the whole way through. When you're done you should have a TON of points (I had around 1200 points) and win the Shmooth shailing accessory.
****************************************** Catching Chocobos: For more chocobo encounters, equip a rabite's foot (dropped from Jumbo Cactuar in that Bikanel mission in ch 5) and the Ray of Hope GG to increase your luck. That should increase the amount of chocobo encounters.
For lvl 5 chocobos, remember that you have to be in Chapter 5 to get them. For Bold chocobos, you can find them in Kilika, Bikanel and Thunder Plains. I found that Kilika was the easiest place to do it and had the most encounters.

If you're trying to get 500 points for the Besaid mission, just make it to the very last waterfall. If you're on lvl 1 or 2, you should be able to maintain your chain (ie-not get bitten) and shoot animals till you get to that blindspot area.
Even if not, I think you could still just run your butt off till you get to the blindspot area. Once there, just keep shooting animals, making sure to kill most of them close to you, so that you don't have to run far to pick up the ammo left behind. To save time, use death shot ammo for the big birds. Remember to stand behind the waterfall and stand close to the rails. You know you're in the right spot when the fiends just keep running by you and never bite you.
And as far as time, just keep shooting fiends while under the last waterfall till you have about 40 seconds left. Then just run outta there. But remember to save one death shot ammo for the big robot thing in the next area. So just shoot the robot, then run down to Beclem and you're done!

[/qb] I can't believe you put all of this in one post! <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Anywayz, after defeating the Angry guy (big desert fiend), you can return to the cactuar nation and try to beat Frailea as much as you want. Also, if you've defeated the Jumbo Cactuar in Bikanel, then head over to the Bevelle Dungoen for tons of AP. You'll have to defeat the Black Element at floor 40. The easiest way to do this is to defeat the experiment at Djose when it is at all level 5's. You'll get Magical Dances volume 2, which will allow the songstress to learn Magical Masque (only 20 Ap to learn - Nullify magical attacks while dancing.) Learn this first, then consider equiping your songstress with first strike, and start the battle with Magical Masque, the main thing the Black Element attacks with is magic, and it attempts to cast berzerk, so equip properly, keep the songstress using Magical Masque and the fight shouldn't be too tough. (This is the first time I ever really used the songstress) Then once you reach floor 50 - 59 you'll run into jumbo cactuars, and two little cactuars. They're no good for EXP, but are GREAT for AP! And if you've already passed this spot, you can use the thing on the left side of the room to jump around (only available on Floor 1,20,40, and 60, maybe 80 too, but I'm not sure). It'll let you jump to any floor that had a boss on it. Well that's my tip for now, if you decide on following the advice about paper and pen for Sphere Break, don't think you can tell what the coin is before it's flipped, (I made that mistake three times) and the outer coins change on every turn. By the way, that's still the best tip I've seen, Thanks!

******************************************* [/qb] I did pretty much the same thing except instead of using a Gunner I used Gems, that does 9999 damage too. I never cared much for the Gunner D.S. She seems to die too quickly. Instead I used the Mascot D.S. who comes properly equipped with auto-shell, and auto-protect. I also, finally found where to get auto-life, if you complete that annoying hole thing at the Thunder Plains, you'll get a garment grid with Auto-life on it, which of course makes this fight a lot easier. If you do that Thunder Plains thing with the keys, be sure to right down the keys, and the codes, you'll need both, and equip a charm bangle, so that your gil and battles remain Zero, while going through this maze.

I think there's a glitch with the auto life and other GG. I went through all the gates for auto life and I still didn't get auto life. So I died, then later when I tried again I passed through the gate and immediately got auto life. This has happened with other GG too. Weird huh? Darn delayed effect glitches.

Hmm... Not sure about that one. I know that I have one GG that you have to pass through all, and the one from the Den of Woe.
And Auto-Life even seems to have a certain amount of time to cast.

Just some random notes, your blitzball stats will carry over to your New Game Plus. (Although I haven't gotten into it.) Any greens for catching chocobos will not, and Sphere Break coins will not carry over, so you should sell them before finishing the game your in. (That really upset me!) And Your High Score for Gunner's Gauntlet carries over.

Oh, and I tried mixing the dark matter and potion (anything) to make myself invincible. But it wears off so quickly I would forget and die. (I have beaten him, the first time I did it I went in without Auto-Life, much easier once you have Auto-Life.)
