Mona, in 2009 my husband and I took a Christmas-New Year's cruise to South America. It was beautiful. On our return though, they had flooding rains in Machu Picho. We missed all that. Today I read in the paper that places we visited were flooded and 100,000 people or ore were evacuated. Even here, people who live near a lake are concerned with rising waters. We have had so much rain.

My broccoli is growing; forsythia is beginning to bloom; bulbs are poking their heads up. The concern is that with warm temperatures, fruit trees will begin to bloom and then we will have a freeze. Normally this might happen in February or March or December. The El Nino is stalled in the Pacific and that is what is causing this freak weather.
