Meditation is taught in different ways. How do you meditate?what results have you achieved? I do it by focussing my eyes on the tip of my nose and chant my mantra.
Posted By: Susan Helene Kramer Re: Meditation - 03/16/07 06:46 AM
Good questions to get a discussion started!
Posted By: Alexandra Re: Meditation - 03/16/07 11:05 AM
meditation is not about outside distractions or methods...meditation is about Bringing the Mind home, and clearing it of Obscurations.... best to cut out all other outside distractions or 'methods' and to merely focus inwardly on the breath....just watch it coming in, and going out....conscious of your body swelling and contracting as you breathe in, and breathe out...but with no commentary, or thinking of the breath......
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 03/16/07 11:47 AM
So that is how you do it.
Posted By: Alexandra Re: Meditation - 03/16/07 12:38 PM
Indeed, that is how I do it.....
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 03/16/07 12:42 PM
It would be interesting to know how others do it.

Posted By: cb78 Re: Meditation - 03/21/07 02:43 AM
20mnts morning,20mnts evening.
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 03/21/07 04:36 AM
What is the process? Are you allowed to reveal?
Posted By: cb78 Re: Meditation - 03/29/07 01:44 AM
CDM,i see that you have criticised SKY in some other posts.
In which case why should want to know all this?
Besides i dont think these step by step procedures are to be revealed.
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 03/29/07 04:00 AM
No problem.
Posted By: engee Re: Meditation - 03/29/07 02:10 PM
why dont you tell us about your meditation?
is that allowed?
Posted By: Susan Helene Kramer Re: Meditation - 03/29/07 05:04 PM
Engee - do you mean to tell about the meditation rather than cd's step by step procedure.

Such as whether it is sitting in silence.

Includes even breathing or alternate nostril breathing.

Is 10 to 20 minutes in length.

Uses a mantra.

See my first post in this thred. You did not?
Posted By: engee Re: Meditation - 03/30/07 09:39 AM
I meant about the kundalini meditation where you see blue light.
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 03/30/07 10:05 AM
I do not do that. My Guru has not taught me that yet.
Posted By: engee Re: Meditation - 03/30/07 01:01 PM
I see.Gurumayi will be teaching that then?
When you wrote all that earlier i thought u have experienced all that!
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 03/30/07 01:12 PM
My relationship with Guru is adifferent kind. Guru does not tell what he will do.
Posted By: Susan Helene Kramer Re: Meditation - 03/30/07 02:57 PM
What is Gurumayi's full name?
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 03/31/07 04:33 AM
Bhagwan Chidvilasanand.

Hello Susan,

have you ever met Gurumai?
Posted By: Susan Helene Kramer Re: Meditation - 03/31/07 04:22 PM
No, but I had close friends who were disciples of Sw. Muktananda many years ago.
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 04/01/07 04:35 AM
You are in the USA. If you go to Newyork anytime, you can try and meet Gurumai. It will be Guru's wish.
Posted By: Susan Helene Kramer Re: Meditation - 04/01/07 07:15 AM
CD - I live in North Holland in Europe - north of Amsterdam!

My experience now is that the guru lives within - in spirit.
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 04/01/07 07:24 AM
May God bless you?
Posted By: Susan Helene Kramer Re: Meditation - 04/01/07 09:11 AM
Thank you very much! And God bless you!
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 04/02/07 04:54 AM
Just wanted to add what Baba Muktananda said-

He said that Guru lives in every heart.
For salavation a Guru in body is required.
That is- A Guru whose body is live on thois earth.
I pray that you meet a Guru in body and get blessed.

Thank you so much.
may Gurudeva bless you.
blessed was your friend who met Baba.

It is one of those debatable topics whether the seeker needs a guru who is currently in the flesh.

My opinion is that some benefit by the example of a human living a holy life.

Some read scripture and are blessed to be able to stick to a holy path.

Some experience spiritual awakening or initiation in dreams and are changed forever.

There are probably more ways than mentioned here.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?
Posted By: engee Re: Meditation - 04/02/07 02:34 PM
hey susan u are absolutely right.
india is a place full of bogus gurus.
if one needs a guru and one deserves a guru the right one will come to u somehow.
i do not think it right to approach a guru whom u are unsure of or a guru u do not know of.
i also dont think anyone has to the right to force another to believe ins someone just becoz he does.

its a gud topic for debate.

Why do you say that India is a place full of bogus gurus? What is the proof you have for such a statement? I met Gurus in my visit to India. How can you say all this? Why are you spoiling the name of your country? How many Gurus have you met in India and found to be bogus? What do you mean by a Bogus Guru? Let us debate.
Do you know the meaning of Guru? Please tell me.
Posted By: engee Re: Meditation - 04/05/07 09:15 AM

What do you mean by saying that bogus Guru is unreal. How do you find that out? What are the parameters by which you judge? I am curious to know.

Those who are in search of peace should not question everything. They should first have the ability to understand the answers. otherwise it is like teaching a kid the Theory of relativity.
Posted By: Susan Helene Kramer Re: Meditation - 04/06/07 10:46 AM
Pooja is a worship service with a similar format to Sunday service in a Christian church. It is a time for offering prayers of thanksgiving and asking for blessings from our spiritual source, by whatever name you use.
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 04/06/07 11:41 AM
yes, Susan , you are right.
How come you know all this?
Any Indian connection?
Posted By: Susan Helene Kramer Re: Meditation - 04/06/07 01:33 PM
During the 1980s I was an interfaith minister - in preparation studied many world religions.
Posted By: Modern Woman Re: Meditation - 04/06/07 02:27 PM
That is wonderful.
