What was your most surprising....and least liked sandwich ever? Was it bananas and bologna? Or, fish tacos with strawberries?? Let me hear it!

I used to love bologna as a kid but sure wouldn't touch it now! We also used to eat butter and sugar as kids. People might think that was ickey but we loved it.

Nowdays I'm not too fond of sandwiches on bread. I'd rather do a tortilla wrap or a sub roll of some kind.

I think my worst sandwich ever was the ones they used to give us in the Navy when I worked the night shift at the hospital-white bread, too much mayo, limp lettuce and probably bologna. They were dried out and tasteless as only a military mess hall can make them.

I detest egg salad sandwiches. I like all of components separate but mixed together and served on bread - yuck! sick

I love egg salad! That's so interesting smile I can't think of a sandwich that I really don't like that I've eaten. I mean, I imagine I would hate a liver sandwich but I've never tried one smile

I love Subway wraps smile Tuna fish wraps ...

Could never stomach egg salad - I love the flavors and the ingredients - I truly think it is a texture/visual thing with me (same reason why I will not eat oatmeal).

OMG! We did this. I can't believe someone else did it. I can't imagine doing now.

As for egg salad sandwiches, love em. Love the bologne too but that is like a once every few months thing. You can substitute mushed can chick peas for the eggs in egg salad. It makes a really good for you and filling sandwich.

I remember doing something similar to that..my dad is from Canada and my Canadian grandmother used to give me thick slices of homemade bread with butter and sprinkled with sugar..it was delicious!

I love bologna, but it has to be the kind from the deli, thin sliced with white american cheese(also from the deli)with mustard on a roll. Yummy! I used to live on the Oscar Mayer stuff when I was a kid but I'm not crazy about it now. Then again, when I was a little girl I loved Cool Whip sandwiches..Cool Whip between slices of Wonder Bread..yeah I was weird! LOL!!

We had butter & sugar on biscuits when I was a kid.

As for bologna, the only way I'll eat it now (and on very rare occasions) is fried with yellow mustard on a sandwich. Cheddar cheese is optional, but a good addition - it gets all melty and yummy.

When I was a kid, the cafeteria ladies used to make "baloney cups" for lunches--it was a slice of baloney with a scoop of mashed potatoes plopped on top, then put in the oven to heat up. The heat caused the baloney to curl up around the potatoes, forming a cup. Then, top with shredded cheese. It's weird, but kids still love it.

My dad loves fried bologna but I've never tried it. Always seemed weird to me! LOL smile

My very favorite sandwich is grilled cheese, preferably with a nice hot bowl of tomato soup. Comfort food at it's best!

My father would always put butter and ketchup on his bologna sandwich. Not for me. I always liked mine plain. Just two slices of white bread and two slices of bolonga were all I needed.

My kids and I always loved Sweet Lebanon Bologna from Pennsylvania. They always love me to fry it up and for them to gobble it down. They say it just gets sweeter when you fry it, and they were right.

We all love it....But of course, now that I live in the far north, we can't get it unless our relatives are nice enough to ship it up which they have done on several occasions.

YUMMY!!!!!

I like to buy bologna in the log and cut it myself. Beef bologna is my favorite. I have never tried the Sweet Lebanon - can you only get it in Pennsylvania?

I had a shark taco once in Santa Cruz, CA and was not real pleased with the taste or the texture. If I never had another one I would not be sad.

Yes, I do believe that it is only found in Pennsylvania. It is some of the best stuff that you will ever taste. I can never get enough of it, whether in a sandwich or fried up.

I am originally from Pennsylvania and I never missed a grocery trip where I didn't buy one to two pounds of that stuff at a time. My kids love it, and so do I.

Hmmmm, you have all made me hungry!! I also like....get ready Braunschweiger (sp?) and cheese sandwiches. Chicken liver, yum!! With some red onion slices....and good hot mustard. Okay, okay....LOL

I also love fried bologna and yes, we too had butter/sugar sandwiches...

Thank you all for the visit down memory lane!
