Strictly speaking, the first birds I see every day are my pets. There is a lovebird on my head and a cockatiel. Outside, which is the focus of this question, there is no one at the hummingbird feeder at present, but earlier there were mockingbirds attacking the figs on the tree.

What did you see?

A seagull. Or more precisely, several of them circling high in the air.

I can't remember exactly which bird I saw first today, because I was so excited to see a kingfisher. Beautiful bird, and I rarely see one, they move so quickly.

Also saw swans, coots, Canada geese, Egyptian geese, parakeets, gulls, and a magpie. And I heard a woodpecker, but didn't see it.

First one this morning was a downy woodpecker. Since then, blue jays, cardinals, and juncos

Unusually, I haven't actually seen any birds today.
