Sea day today. We sailed down the Adriatic from Dubrovnik - and around 5.30 this evening went through the Straits of Messina. Our next stop is Naples.
Lots of sunshine today, and temperatures in the 60s F.

Mona, my ancestors lived on the mainland in Reggio D'Calabria not far from Messina - a ferry ride. My grandfather was from Palmi. It is so beautiful.

Yesterday it was sunny and windy.
At night it was windy.
When I went to bed it was sunny and the sun was getting ready to rise.
When I got up it was partly cloudy and windy.

It is mild but showery. We were expecting a hard rain but so far that has not happened.

Angie, the only time I ever stopped in Sicily was several years ago in Palermo. Enjoyable, but very hot I remember.
Today we were in Civitavecchia, a port of Rome. (There's also Ostia.) An agreeable day, around 70 F. We'd hoped for some stargazing tonight, but it completely clouded over by this evening, couldn't even see bright Jupiter. Though we did see the Moon, even though it was only a few minutes before it too disappeared again.
