Blankets and carpets can go a long way to making your home warmer. With just a few simple steps, you cna 'redesign'old pieces to look like new and match any style or motiff. I'm sort of at the 'stripes and geometrics' stage in decorating with upholstry spray paints, but I know some who go a step farther and make some pretty cool patterns. My sister did this years ago to a couch using silk flower spray. She called and told me, "Come over; I've spray painted my couch!" My husband looked at me, arched his eyebrow and said, "We'll go look, but we won't sit!" Upholstry paint has come a long way since then! (Although the skil flower paint looked great and never did fade or come off on our jeans!) Has anyone else ever done anything like this?

I do something like this -- During the winter, I use a blanket instead of a bottom sheet on my bed. So warm and cozy!
