Yesterday it was partly cloudy, foggy off/on, raining off/on and windy.
When I went to bed it was windy and the sun was almost completely set.
When I got up it was windy and the sun was partly risen.

When I went to bed it was windy and the sun was partly set.
When I got up it was windy and the sun had started to rise.

Nancy, since you mentioned sun set and sun rise, I'll mention that here in The Netherlands at the 52nd latitude, when I go to bed at 10pm it is still light enough to read by and gets light again at 4:30am. Today is mild and I've been working out in the garden this morning - temp is 60F.

Susan,
Here it now starts to rise before 3:00 and after 21:00 it still has not set completely.
Going to bed and getting up that early is not something I really like but Tennis is in Europe and that is my last year probably watching it so if I don't want to be a zombie for my matches I have to do that.
If I would do other things than watch television and be in front of the computer maybe I could get to bed later and not be very tired when getting up early.
