Today I spent $2 on a special to get a subscription to Real Simple magazine. I love that one, and actually read it. I couldn't resist it for two bucks.

Lisa, that is so nice that Bob does all the shopping, and I'm glad he's frugal about it. Dan isn't really frugal. He doesn't buy much, but when he does, he doesn't mind spending money on the best of something.

For example, yesterday, we went to REI's big anniversary sale, and dan decided he needed new sunglasses that were over a hundred dollars. I would feel weird spending that much on non-prescription glasses.

James is over so I spent $25 on ordering in Domino's pizza which will feed us all for today and then half of tomorrow. Bob was going to be frugal and go get it, to save us the $5 or whatever delivery charge, but that would have taken another 2 hours so I paid the delivery charge to get us fed. I do sometimes err on the side of feeding James. It bugs me to have him hungry.

I do have tinting prescription glasses - i.e. my daily glasses tint. That's what I wear for all seeing. So on one hand I paid "extra" so they tint. But I do think it's important to wear sunglasses when out in the sun, and as I have to wear prescription glasses, that's what I needed to tint.

I think it was money well spent to have my glasses able to block sunlight. Eyes are vital. UV radiation can cause cataracts (or exacerbate ones that are already developing).

If I didn't wear any glasses at all normally, I'd definitely wear sunglasses when outside. But that being said, I don't think I would pay $100 for them. I'd get something cheap but durable and functional.

I have prescription sunglasses too, which is why i worded things the way I did. I don't mind paying a lot for those, since they ARE expensive. And they ARE my eyes.

But if they weren't prescription, I wouldn't spend more than $20 on a pair. I think what he spent - $103, plus tax - is honestly outrageous.

I miss going to the movies! There's a movie theatre here but it only shows French versions! I hate dubbing, it's a torture for me, it was when I only spoke French!

Fassy on a big screen, you are lucky Val!

I just paid my satellite bill by credit card on the phone (had to because i received it yesterday and monday is the last day...not too sure that i can go to the bank then so did not take any chance). It was 199,29$ but I had 5,75$ (should be 5$) credited and it was taken out before I gave my credit card number. For some reason on May 20 they added four channels (Hollywood Suite...when it arrived on Bell i checked it out the free month and every channels were censored and i hate censorship so i did not add them...finally there was a free preview and now 3 [still havent seen a movie i know on the other with the f word in it...it should be like the others but before i see a new movie i want to be 100% sure] do not censor so i want them) and I was charged for them even with the free preview until May 31. He has never seen anything like that (that has happened a lot since i moved here) because the client has to call and ask for the channels for it to be added to your television. I asked if they had like psychics or witches that could enter the heads of their clients and that's not what happened, LOL. Now only one channel (before it never interested me but now that they changed the name like 25% of their shows interest me...ill wait and then ask what $ it is and if its less than 5$ ill get it) and the porn channels, the channels of the languages I don't speak and the sports I don't watch I do not have.

I really enjoyed this Xmen movie - saw it on opening night. This was one of the best in the series. I had a free ticket, so there wasn't any cost for me to see it this week. YAY!

Oh, and yesterday I went to a brewpub and bought some beers. I met some people from an Aspergers' Meetup. That was well worth doing.

I also got some clear shoeboxes, and a few sets of pretty sticky notes from the Dollar Tree. Doing some organizing this weekend. :-)

Dan bought us sub sammies from the grocery store. That's all for today.

I will probably hit the Dollar Tree tomorrow for some more clear shoebox bins, and maybe some gift tags to use as labels. Those shoe boxes are awesome for organizing. I want to put everything in them.
