Do you think that quilting and hand stitching is a form of meditation? Where does your head go when you're methodically stitching. Do you feel better after a session with the needle and thread?

Let's have a conversation about how quilting effects us, particularly mentally and in our behaviour.
Cheerio for now

I find I can forget all my troubles when I sit at the sewing machine or hand sew. I become engrossed in my sewing, and relax. This has been very beneficial in recent months, and has saved my sanity, on many days.

Quilting was a life saver for me when my husband died. I sat up most nights and made 2 Baltimore quilts. One I gave to my step-daughter. The other I raffled in aid of a local cancer charity that had helped my husband. This was nearly 16 years ago and I managed to raise over £5,000. Time just passes whilst quilting, you relax to such a degree that I'm sure you are doing the equivalent of meditation

I am going back to hand quilting as I've found trying to quilt on my machine is very frustrating for me. Hand quilting is very peaceful & relaxing and I can just let my mind wander.
