I find I can forget all my troubles when I sit at the sewing machine or hand sew. I become engrossed in my sewing, and relax. This has been very beneficial in recent months, and has saved my sanity, on many days.
Quilting was a life saver for me when my husband died. I sat up most nights and made 2 Baltimore quilts. One I gave to my step-daughter. The other I raffled in aid of a local cancer charity that had helped my husband. This was nearly 16 years ago and I managed to raise over £5,000.
Time just passes whilst quilting, you relax to such a degree that I'm sure you are doing the equivalent of meditation
