That's pretty discouraging. Let's hope there's a solution.

Hi Zoe,

I am glad you helped me to understand where you are at right now.

New members to the forum, cannot post URLs so that has been deleted from you post. Don't take it personally, we get a lot of spam here.

My suggestion to you is to apply for a section as an editor. Lisa has created a wonderful training program and if you are able to become an editor there will be someone assigned to help you as you work through the training.

In your application I would mention the issues you have. You will be able to provide an article as a sample of writing and that way the people here can see if they can help you become a good editor in a section you care about.

I am glad you are posting now after a long time of lurking : - )

I have worked through a lot of years of health issues myself. Not to mention, life's left turns every now and again.

What I have learned here in the last few years due to the patience of Lisa and everyone else, is that even though I have issues happening in my life. If I simply keep writing and stop waiting until I think my writing is good enough, or my topics are right, I help myself through my writing issues as well as the issues in my life.

I've learned to keep writing no matter what. Whether I have help with it or not. Whether I feel well or not. I have a lot of writing I've done that I am now beginning to post.

by continuing to write, I ended up answering my questions and feeling a lot better about myself.

I have also learned here to work on one project, from start to finish, and then pick up the next one. I use an idea journal to keep track of all my ideas, and to keep them out of my way as I work on and finish the one project that is my main focus.

In the past all my ideas would wear me out and ultimately, none of them were written.

I hope some of this helps.

Go ahead, and apply for a section as an editor here. I know it will help you tremendously as it has done for me.

Have a wonderful week,

Bluedolphin

Hi Bluedolphin, Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I will go ahead and fill out my application. Like you mention, it is important to write no matter what, if that is what is in your heart to do. ============================================================== It also matters much that you hang on to your notes and writing ideas. Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Hundred Years of Solitude) won the Nobel prize for literature in 1982. In a biographical sketch I read that some of the characters in Solitude, he began developing in the 1950's. That's inspired me in all the times I've had to set my projects down. ================================================================= Have you seen any of Kitty Klein's work on how writing can help to improve some types of memory and to work through post traumatic stress? Another important reason to write. Like a philosophy professor once told my class, "Changing our perception of the past, changes our experience of the present," as we are doing when writing of our experiences. Your encouragement is much appreciated at this time. Wishing you a great week also. :)

I'm making some progress with my e-book today I have several essays written and need to merge them into a single longer one. Also, I got a message from BookBaby and they are changing how they work with authors. Did you get a PR from them too? What writing did you do today?

Hello Everyone, Zoe and Les and all, What an iteresting post Zoe, I will read it again too for me, as the goals you have set yourself are fine and it seems that your head is squarely attached as my dear departed Mom might have said. Good luck with all you seek. I have been a member for longer than is shown currently, I was very ill last year with a thyroid-based condition and did not do any writing for my site of Container Gardening. Oh Dear! When I came back I found all things changed, I was relegated to a newbie and private emails etc. had been disabled. I can't access my original profile (though I am sure it is lurking) and also can't use an avatar etc. I too have a coding problem with my posts (as you see!) and also in my articles as far as punctuation is concerned. It is frustrating isn't it? Anyway and all that - I am finding out a lot about taking responsibility for one's health beyond the medical profession and read so much about how and what I eat affects the condition and associated problems of thyroid inefficiency. There are many people out there who do a great deal of good work in my area of enquiry so I am lucky there. Pity! I have had to nearly (if not completely) give up some of my favourites like spinach, broccoli and cauliflower. Go figure. Ah well. Perhaps the powers that be will soon be able to sort out the BOL system problems and communicate in some way with us, I do hope so. Spam? Who wants it? Not I said the whatever. Cheers and all, Lestie Container Gardens

Glad to see you back Lestie!

I am also very happy you are getting better. I agree with you, it is important, and sometimes essential for us to take responsibility for our health issues when we can.

After a lot of years of many illnesses I am finally healthy again. However, that came from learning what my body can and cannot eat, regular exercise, watching my thoughts, etc.

Anyway, I'm really excited you are back as I love your section!

Have an awesome weekend,

Bluedolphin

Hello Bluedolphin - thank you so much for your kind words, gobbled up in a second and much appreciated. Do you do any container gardening? If so what? Please come share your adventures in the soil with us on the CG forum, thanks ... Lestie

Hi Les, Good to meet you here and glad you are feeling better. Since you read, you have an edge on finding the information you need to manage and to overcome your health issues as much as possible. Do you do a lot of searching on the web? Do you manage without using drugs? When did you start writing for Bella? Did you get a lot of help when you started? Do you get many visitors to your section and what can you do if you want to increase how many people check out your posts? How often do you post an article in your section? I will be sure to check it out soon. Zoe
