A straight sets win in under two hours sees Andy Murray, at Wimbledon, achieving the ultimate win of his tennis career Olympic gold. Sweet victory against Roger Federer who four weeks ago beat Murray in his first Wimbledon final.

What a fantastic match Asha, edge of the seat stuff. And that is just watching on TV, the atmosphere at the court side must have been electric.

Am thrilled for Andy Murray, even more especially after last months disappointment. He is a real fighter and it was a well deserved win.

The Brits are doing incredibly well in their home Olympics........do you think it will have a knock on effect after they are over? With more youngsters interested in tennis and all the other sports, as well as a government that actually might support this rather than keep shutting down school etc. playing grounds?

Francine it will be interesting to see what transpires post-Olympics in terms of investment in sport in Britain. Several key sports people have raised this issue, calling for ongoing support for sport at all levels. It seems to me that these Olympics are already becoming part of Britain's history - investment over several years has paid off. I do believe that these Olympics on home ground have proved inspirational to children who may be the medal winners of the future.

It would be great to see Britain high on the medals table at Rio 2016...
