My daughter *loves* Amy's Rag Bag - the owner makes the pads from reclaimed fabric, and she never cuts up clothes that can actually be worn. The only thing in most of her pads that's not post-consumer waste is the thread. She's been using them since she was 12 and wouldn't even consider going to paper at this point. The violin boosters are the perfect design for night time use.
During that time of the month, she uses a freebie plastic cosmetic zipper bag to store used ones until she can get home and soak/wash them.

Shala, those are too cute! I love the crazy quilt look of them and that they are not made from new fabrics. The all-cloth wing fasteners is a good idea. I don't like snaps or velcro down there.

How nice that she always had comfortable soft pads right from the beginning of her menses.

Because i am in Perimenopause, i went from three months with no period to having two periods within two weeks. The second one was pretty thin and bloody (sorry about the details but someone might find this info useful).

I was worried about keeping up with the flow. The pads were up to the task, which comforted me, but i let one pad dry out before soaking. Right now it's clean and dry but stained. I am going to try letting some hydrogen pyroxide soak in it and see how clean in can get it.

It might end up being not worth trying to keep the pads totally stain free, since only i will be seeing them, but i want to preserve the illusion of whiteness for as long as possible!
