What do you really love to do?

I mean, here it is. A day with no responsibilities and all the tools you need. What will you do with it?

What will make you feel balanced, peaceful, happy, at home?

Would you stay home, workout, travel, do art, cook, read, write, make pottery, listen to music, eat?

Would you relax by the fireplace, at the beach, in your backyard, at a ski resort?

Would you go to a play, a concert, out to dinner, to a party?

Would you throw a party, check out a resort, dine at a restaurant, fast, garden, knit, visit a friend?

Would you visit the ill, the elderly, or animals?

Would you plan your future?

Here's a day on a platter. What will you do with it?

What do you really LOVE to do? Tell us.

For my special day I will write & create a special space for me. Holiday music in the background, hot tea and a lit wood burning fireplace. Christmas movies on hand. Money to shop for gifts, wrapping paper, scissors, ribbon & tape.

I'm in heaven just thinking about it.

Angela-

Guess I'm busted blush

In real life, the man & 3 children are almost always hanging around. So, when it's my personal fantasy, it's a day without them grin

Love them, thankful for them, can't get enough of them, except when I need to be alone.

Isn't that what fantasies are for? wink

Hi Yvonnie:

I was getting "jealous" - thanks for fessing up!!!!

Yep, love my man to death, but love it when I get home and he is still at work = I get to hug the big screen TV and watch what I want to watch.

I'm with you Yvonne, I also have a husband and 3 kids, and I get plenty of good family time, so when I see a question like this I also opt for alone time. I would read, walk in nature, meditate, perhaps head out to a cafe to read and relax there as well...end with a hot quiet bath...

In my little fantasy, I am hanging out on a deck chair on a tropical beach. i have my tote bag full of books and my netbook. My yoga mat is curled up and ready to be used, right next to the ocean. There are pina coladas and I get up to go for many walks on the beach.

Kicked back next to an open fire along side a babbling mountain stream. Can be day or night... At least I'm in the outdoors.

Most people would think I'm weird if I say "find something to clean". I get my most relaxation moments when my body is busy so my mind can wander.

As much as I LOVE movies, my daughter recently shared that she has never seen me sit still for a movie at home (unless I'm at a movie theater), I sit for a minute then I'm up and about finding something to clean and asking what happened. I shared with her that is why I ONLY buy movies I've seen so I can leave the room and know what I missed...LOL...

But my favorite times are the moments I spend with my family, sitting around my parents table in their sunroom, just talking.

Beetlemess, love that outdoor theme.

Diane, you & my husband must be kindred spirits. When he is home, he is either sleeping or cleaning and buzzing about so much it drives the rest of us crazy crazy (LOL). His favorite thing, ironing.
I know quite a few people like you. I love that energy & have grown to understand it.

That said, I'm more inclined to be like Burt sleep

Sipping hot chocolate by a campfire and listening to the night sounds of the critters, waves of the lake lapping on the shore, watching the stars, trying to find constellations... perfect way to relax.

Yvonne, it drives my family crazy too!!!

Phyllis, that does sound wonderful! I would love to sit and sip hot chocolate and relax. I even bought pepperment, because I love peppermint hot chocolate!

I usually have so much on my mind that the cleaning uses up some of the energy and it gives me time to sort out my thinking. Not to worry, there is an occassional night when I do stop and take time to sit back...

My favorite time is when I have the house all to myself, then I go into Ninja cleaning mode which means kids rooms, in closets under beds - there is nothing they can hide :-)

LOL...thanks Yvonne...

It actually started many years ago when my oldest (he is now 27) was in junior high school. We were moving and I was going through some boxes in his closet which had not been unpacked since our last move (we were in the military at the time). I found balled up papers from the school that a couple of months prior he had been suspended from school for one day. That was before all of the electronic notification now where they will call and leave a message if a child misses one class.

His sister and brother now blame the ninja on him...LOL

Laughter...

Oh, how I love to laugh. Jilly, just the thought of it is healing. Thanks for reminding me how much I love to laugh.

May you laugh, and laugh, and laugh, in joy, everyday for the remainder of your days.

I love being around my horses, riding, reading, gardening, connecting with nature, seeing new places, going to the beach, snuggling on the couch with a hot chocolate, blanket, and a good movie, watching my dogs play in the yard, and the luxury of an occasional nap!

I really love to be home. All day and not go out. I especially don't like it when I have to be somewhere at a certain time. So I don't mind going out to run errands if the time is flexible, but I don't like appointments.

It's really rare, but I like to be home alone. I don't think I'd like to be home alone a lot, but occasionally would be nice.

Tina, Burt, Jilly-

Isn't it wonderful to create a Breathing Space that offers comfort and love? I too love my home, even when it is filled with kids, my hubby, and guests.

That said, being alone in my home is priceless!

Thanks for sharing:)

Hello Cassie,

I agree with you completely. Home truly is a place where you can escape the pressures of the outside world. Personally, I love to relax by curling up on the couch with a good book or watching one of my favorite television shows.

I realize that I started this thread in November so, I had holidays on the brain.

Today, with a day alone, I would meditate, enjoy a 6-mile run, a one hour nap, write, and drink tea (a coconut/vanilla/almond tea-latte to be exact). I'd enjoy simple fare like fruit, nuts, and salad, or juice a few items, or Vitamix a green smoothie.

If it were raining, I would listen to music (I like Rufus & Chaka Khan, Nora Jones, Erykah Badu, and Amel Larrieux), crochet, and go back to sleep.

If it were sunny I would walk to the movie theatre (5 miles from home) along the lakefront, watch a movie, and walk home.

Give me a week and I would travel.

What do I really love to do?
I love to write, listen to music, walk, run, travel, meet people, and learn about others.

I would spend that entire day by myself in nature. Walk, stand, sit and just listen and look. At night I would sit by a window and read or listen to music while often looking outside.
