My sister left behind a bag of stuffed animals when she moved. What can I do with them? I hate to throw them out, but I imagine many places wouldn't want to take "used" stuffed animals ...?

One thing you can do, is donate to a local thrift store. Specifically, if that thrift store supports children. When I lived in Virginia, the local childrens' hospital, King's Daughters, has several thrift stores that support their mission.

If this is not an option, you can always send your gently used stuffed animals to Project S.A.F.E: www.stuffedanimalsforemergencies.org. They have chapters in several states. You can send your donation to the chapter representative nearest to you. Your donation will help a child who has needs an uplift during a time of crisis.

Dear Kristal -

Thank you for the ideas! I was thinking of asking my local police station if they would be able to use them, to help kids who were in traumatic situations. I'll see what works!

Good will is a good place to donate. You can also ask animal shelters or donate to people with pets.

Every person I know who has a dog buys stuffed animals for their pet to tear up. I used to do it too. After a while it gets expensive.

We take old stuffed toys over to my sisters from time to time so her dogs can just go to town. They love em!

Dear Monica -

These are very well cared for Ty beanie babies, they had the tags on them. so I'd hate to see they just be ripped up smile I imagine if they were old, ratty ones that is a perfect idea!
