I am feeling so spiritually connected here with you ladies talking about the Sequoias in a spiritual way. I am almost finished with an article I started about 4 days ago on the Giant Sequoia. This is a spiritual thought that has passed back and forth between us. Delightful! What a joy I feel!!!

Sending you a big big hug and lots of love.

I was involved in a sad situation last year. The neighbors had a puppy and somehow they managed to TRAIN it to run behind the car as they drove up the road. We live on a private road, so there is no traffic, but, I knew, I just knew, that it would not turn out well. (They also had a few dozen chickens that got eaten, due to their negligence and I believe they starved their goat to death.)
Anyway, the one March morning, the husband dropped the boy off at the bottom of the road and as he was coming back up, he didn't see the dog and ran it over, killing it instantly. We got involved after we got the panic phone call. All I can say it was heartbreaking, horrible: forgive me for the graphic details -- but we washed the blood off the road and helped bury the poor thing.
I was so angry about the needless suffering of the sweet doggie (and other animals) and the insanity of these people. I wondered as you did, WHY???
Why can't people simply respect all life on this earth?? I realize accidents happen, but there are always ACTIONS and CONSEQUENCES! This is the Cosmic Law.

I also believe that we are not sent more than we can deal with and as I stated before Onealone, your strength is that of a mighty seqouia tree, weathering the storms and standing tall afterwards!

Peace.

Dear Anna, what a tragic thing. Oh, why are some people so ignorant and uncaring? I'll never understand.

Thanks for your kind thoughts for me. I am taking things very slowly, and I will be fine. I just need to give myself time, and be a bit careful moving for a while.

Hello!

Onealone I hope you are feeling stronger every day.

I can barely believe this myself but at the exact time I was posting my post last night, we got another panic call from the neighbors that I mentioned with the dog tragedy.

Their new dog ran away Sunday morning at about 9 am and has not returned. I don't know if it had a collar or not, but we went looking for it last night.

My husband seems to think that the dog was picked up by caring people, but we do have coyotes that roam in the woods. I'm going to try and concentrate on this later this morning, but, Beautiful People, what are your thoughts on the dog's location, if any??

I feel horrible for the innocent dog, but am not surprised at this turn of events.

I love Sequoia trees. I saw them once up close a few years ago when I visited northern California. They are awesome, majestic trees that seem to spring from another time. I sure felt small being close to these gentle giants. I bet they know some very big secrets.

Thank you for posting that beautiful picture, onealone.

Hello Everyone! So, I come in here, and read and read. I get ready to respond, but something comes up. Then I come back, and can't remember if I posted, or did I post somewhere else? LOL!!

Anna and Onealone, I'm so sorry to hear what animals are going through lately!! Oddly (yeah, right LOL) as I was reading these posts, the sad puppy commercial for the humane society came on tv.

My aunt's little dog hurt herself yesterday, so today I took them to the vet. She'll be okay... but she seemed so down. But it distracting my aunt from some other pressures she's had recently.

Cassie, I LOVE the energy of trees. My particular favorite is the Aspen, or Poplar. We have a grove about 25 miles from where I live. A couple of years ago I visited and found a branch that had fallen off one of the trees that's tall enough (and sturdy enough) to be a walking staff. It's just AMAZING!! I've dreamed of trees talking too.... I know they are filled with wisdom and must have very big secrets wink

Phyllis, sweet! Can't wait to read your article on the sequoia.
