Thanks... I had seen this sight while making plans & wanted to find it again. You just saved me some search time.

I wasn't planning to take luggage up the hill with me; just the necessary layers and outerwear to combat the elements. Don't know what it's going to be doing those first couple days in December.

You are welcome Beetlemess, having lost many sites myself know how frustrating it is to try and find them again.

Layers are best while you are in Bavaria, with some 'thermals' in there amongst the rest if possible. It is unseasonably warm at the moment, for example no skiing on the Zugspitze because of the small amount of snow so far, however this is expected to change in the next days and on average it does tend to be freezing or just above freezing from November onwards. Often with a wind which emphasizes the cold.

For any 'weather' info., regardless of the country, have found The Weather Channel, Weather.co.uk, to be the best and most accurate 'go to' site. It is normally more accurate than Weather.com, and you will be able to check up on Nuremberg etc. also.
Bavarian Weather Forecasts

Am sure you have all the information you need, but I am here if anything comes to mind andEnjoy your trip and your Flammkuchen!

Flammkuchen is on my menu & a new town that we'll be visiting has just arose - Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Hear they have a great Christ Market, also. Investigating a full day trip out of Nuremberg due to needing to return there for lodging.

So I should be able to come back with a comparison of the various delicacies found in Munich, Nuremberg, Rothenburg, & Garmisch (Zugspitze).

Phyllis can attest that my background & experiences suggest that I'm quite familiar with braving the elements & how to prepare for them. I might be able to provide reviews & contribute to your topics... let's see what happens.

Danke Schn

Thank you very much for the links Phyllis. Had read the articles when you first published them, but enjoyed reading them once more and it was amazing just how much I had missed first time around.

A really interesting life story...........now is there a book in there for you?

My thanks once again.

Look forward to that, it will be great to hear your impressions. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is just lovely the whole year, but of course as a setting for a Weihnachts Markt it is like something from a picture book, quite an experience.

Small wonder that the town has been chosen as a backdrop for so many Disney films. Although it has a Medieval Crime Museum, which is so grisly it explains why so many folks were willing to take what was a dangerous trip in those days, disappear into the unknown and emigrate from Germany.

Germany's Fun and Unusual Museums

It is a long way from Flammkuchen and Christmas Markets but still worth a visit if you have a little time to spare.
