I agree with you, onealone! If I had a dime for every time I heard the word stupid in my younger years, I'd feel rich. I was just blind but no one knew it. I think the struggle strengthened my spirituality. Yours, too.

I think it's important to look beyond the obvious ties - family, work, community - to find the spiritual connections we can relate to with the largest degree of openness. The other ties serve a purpose but the link to them doesn't always embrace the soul. I think it's wonderful that the internet allows so many of us from so many corners of the globe to connect spiritually, as so many of here seem to do.

Amazing - that's you, onealone!

How wonderful would it be for that type of integration in lieu of a battle for control?

Although I chose to be male for this incarnation, I too have been "considered to be either stupid, mental, heretical, or just a plain 'freak'" as onalone has so clearly and painfully observed.
So, here's one for the muses, let me know what you think:

No room for remorse my triad said, go swim with Neptune Luara o Luara whence come my dread.
I've seen the sea raging striving to give rebirth.
Watch the darkness, tumble and be pounded, forget the surf.
The sand grits your teeth, armpits and lungs too..
Your fortune of forever is lost in the swill,
Forget you've ever seen me maiden of the mist.
Your chill has gone past the bone,
For every siren knows...
The best is for last who foreknew.
The eyes have lost their sanity you are in for it now...
The depths have swallowed your mortal opinions,
No whys, wheres and wherefores will save you from my graceful sea cow.
She swims with her brood Manatee park will shew.
Propellers of mechanics slice her gray flesh.
Rough slap of tinker toys all fall in rust.
Newness of life the cycles say.
Open your eye single in the forehead.
You see I've been here forever.
Oh ocean mist of sage.
Smudge sticks have their place the natives all knew.
Four Faces Four Forces all blend into one.
Now get out of your bathtub you wrinkled little wretch.
Vestal Virgins of virtue are not the first nor the last.
They know the translucence of earth's long forgotten past.
Kitten hijinks tender, mild, meek full of virtue too...
Shall resonate forever to your dim-witted mind.
Looking for life all around you, yet forgetting to be kind.
Remember the invisible put away your fouling fuel.
Soot of coal was heavy a phase you had to go through.
Transmute, Transmute, Transmute your darkness,
Easy if you try.
Culture of The Mother, veneration indeed.
Come triune my sanity... Love, Wisdom, Power too.
Infinite Niagara expand your thimble thoughts.
Tempest in a teapot has mesmerized you.
Come play in my ocean in the newness of Love.
Don't sit on the sidelines licking your wounds.
Your seed is my heart flame blazing up toward the brow.
My gestation is comforting warm in the tummy too..
Forget Tiamat that dragon of yore.
Oh lusty manchild come forth now, there is no such thing as sin...
I have been here forever so silky and smooth..
Velvety darkness with every subtle hue.
Translucent your body for mother to be.
Expand your narrow room in my sweet forgiving sea.

Beautiful, Burt. I love your poetry!

Elleise, I love your words that bring us all together as a family, a community of like-minded souls. We each are drawn to that which resonates in our spirit.

I have had so many pets in my life and loved each one of them. The ones that have passed on always came back, at least once, to let me know they are at peace. Boomer, my little Australian Silky, has come back many times over the years to visit me. He is such a loving spirit. When he was alive, everyone just adored him. He was so intelligent and loved to dance with 'Bo Jangles'. My son would play the song 'Bo Jangles' on his guitar and dance around the room as Boomer stood on his hind legs and danced with my son.

Boomer slept on my bed every night and curled up behind my knees. One night he awoke me and sat very close to my head. As I sat up he crawled in my lap as if to protect me, just as an earthquake made our whole house (two-story Victorian) sway like a ship in the ocean. He knew that quake was coming and woke me up before it hit.

I still miss him, but he comes by once in awhile.

Hugs to all my family here!

I, too, enjoyed your poetry, Burt. And, Phyllis, I am so glad you shared that wonderful story with all the animal lovers hanging around this forum.

Thank you both all!

Beautiful poetry Burt! king

I enjoyed your story Phyllis about Boomer. When we had one of our infrequent earthquakes in NJ, the cats also sensed they were coming!

This is a community of like-minded souls and it adds something special to life!

Things that are alike in their innermost nature attract one another.

Peace Beautiful People!

Connie used to be the dr. doolittle of Big Stone Gap in VA. We had a family cat, "blackie", who survived the huricane in Miami in 1992 and came back to Daytona as a pet for my elderly dad. That cat was skinny as a rail, but she was ready to take down two large dogs to protect my dad. She passed away naturally last fall, about 4am... we have baby monitors and I heard her expire. It sounded like a window opening on one of those old wood type windows. Blessed little blackie we have a cross with her collar and id tag in the back yard !

Oh, Burt - how precious to put a cross out for Blackie. That is so nice. Connie must be well-loved by pets. She sounds like a wonderful person.

It is so sad to lose a pet, so we all know how you feel, Sirene, and we all with you.

Loving memories of our pets and support of others sure helps us, doesn't it?

My son once had an Iguana he so loved - Paco was his name. Paco slept on my son's head at night to keep warm and followed Son all over the house.

My mom started declining in health after her kitty munchkin got hit by a car.. We really do get attached. Paco sounds like he was really cool !

Paco was totally tripendicular!

When we moved from the city up to the mountains, Paco sat on my shoulders all the way up the mountain road. He was quite a character -- loved his avocados and carrots!

I am sorry about your Mom. She must have really loved Munchkin.
