Even if science says it's safe? Eh, I don't think so. Not me. What would you serve to drink with it, anyway? Merlot a la Methuselah? Dinosaur dew on the rocks? Primordial preprandials? How about a side of Caesar's original salad? What would you wash it down with if you would eat a sandwich that's several years old?

Considering that bodies are supposed to last longer without embalming today due to the current level of preservative in food this could make the entire procedure obsolete!

Yeck! I didn't know our dead bodies last longer now. Unfortunately, I get it. Ick! And I don't even like the idea of embalming in the first place! Thanks for that post. Just makes my commitment to fresh, healthy foods all the stronger

What to have with the sandwich? No contest on this. Has to be a glass of Shackleton's whisky! Shackleton's whisky recreated

I think I may have accidentally eaten some old sandwiches in college... but not voluntarily. Even if the sell-by date says it's fine!
And to tie together the entire idea of eating well-preserved foods and dead bodies that last longer, flipping channels last night I stumbled across an episode of My Strange Addiction about a woman who not only insisted on carrying around the ashes of her dead husband, but was eating them as well. Apparently it was comforting that he would always be with her. Her and her seemingly vague understanding of how the human digestive system works. Everyone deals with grief in different ways, but wow!

Wow, is right! How bizarre!!! But that does tie together the old food, expiration dates, and well-preserved bodies better than anything I could think of. That poor guy will never get a chance to RIP! Proves once again that truth is stranger than fiction. Much stranger sometimes.
