Mothers without much education sometimes just choose names for their babies without knowing what the names signify. When we lived in Nassau, Bahamas, many years ago, one such mother named her twins Ivory and Ovary.
A number of years ago a colleague of mine had a student named Chardonnay. Apparently, no, she didn't have a sibling named Merlot. (But didn't find this out by asking Chardonnay.)
