Just posted my latest article, Finding Your Mindfulness. I'm interested to hear what brings you into a natural, mindful state?

Listening to music, going for a walk on the beach or on the wood-chip path by my apartment, meditating, yoga, and sometimes doing the dishes or cleaning. Thank you for the article, Lisa. I've been having stressful times here being one of the LAUSD teachers who got a layoff notice, but this article reminded me that especially through the stressful times, I need to remember to practice my mindfulness. :) Debbie

I love the quietness of the morning and everyone is finally gone~ I grab some tea & sit and just meditate with the quiet & calmness of the morning before I do anything. I feel this short 5 to 20 minutes makes a true difference in my day.

DMBFireDancer - so good to see you commenting here. Yes, in mindfulness you will open up a level of your awareness that is stress-free, or maybe even one that sees a new path. Sometimes ending are new opportunities. But I wish you luck, hopefully the worst will not happen...

Mary - I so agree, I do the same thing! Warm tea is very conducive to mindfulness:-) There are actually some Zen haiku poems written on it I think, I will have to look and come back...

Linda, I love it! Folding warm laundry is more conducive to mindfulness than ironing for me, I will have to work through my resistance to that one!

I enjoyed the article greatly, Lisa! It's so true that we should all slow down and pay attention to the world around us. Every day is precious.

I often feel like I race-race-race to keep up with things and am always behind. I am making an effort to congratulate the small steps, to see what progress has been made, and to try to carve out pockets of time to relax. Step by step!

Hello, I have just recently practiced meditation for mindfulness, as I have friends that have been practicing and found that they have changed in their perspective and way of life. I'd like to know how that happens, when it happens. I hope that experts in this forum will be able to share their insights on how a newbie like me can gain "inner peace" and continue meditation on a daily basis. I feel that I am always on autopilot mode, merely following routines when I get up in the morning and go to work. I hope that I find more depth into being in this world. Hope you can help me out!
