Started working for Lance Corporation here in Columbus, Georgia through Westaff Temporary Work Agency in their bakery on the production line. This assignment is a "day to day" set up, so I am not sure how long I will be there. Right now I am doing the 11pm to 7am shift, thank goodness for that. My boyfriend uses the car for his job which does not start until 10am at the earliest, and ends no later than 9pm. I have to leave home by 10pm to avoid being stuck in traffic or some train. I don't know how these train companies do this! They will leave the train "sitting" blocking traffic(lol). So far I worked Monday thru Saturday and should have been there last night(Sunday) but they canceled the shift at the last minute due to machines being down again. That would have been day #7 for me = yippee, some serious overtime! Apparently they have been working without days off since April and 4 or 5 of their product lines got moved to another location due to being so behind. I am on call today(Monday-Memorial Day) in case the line goes back up.
Anyone working or worked for Lance Corporation?
And for those folks that are not familiar with them, they make cookies - slimfast and so on. Very BUSY business indeed. Using 100's of Westaff temps DAILY for their 3 shifts. 7am to 3pm, 3pm to 11pm and 11pm to 7am. The 11pm to 7am just started up.
***If you need some income, check out BOTH Westaff and Lance as they do "direct" hire and will be introducing a NEW product line in August of this year***
