That's a good tip for anytime. My fingers get kind of sore from knitting sometimes where the yarn rubs, especially if I'm using a nubby kind of yarn, like recycled silk.
My friend has a little knitting blog and she noticed less traffic over the summer and now it's starting to pick up again. Could be that people are getting in gear to start holiday gifts or that fall and winter are coming, which is a cozy time to knit.
I suspect it is both. There is still time for big plans for holiday gifts, and at least in the northern hemisphere it is getting cooler (in some places)!
