I'm back.

Skyelaw? Are they heart palpitations?

And Faith, you're so right! I actually went on hiatus with or from religion/faith several years back. My breaking point was a person coming up to me after a seminar I was holding.

You always like to hear how well you are doing or that you've aided a person's life.

Well, I was speaking with one man to my right who had just lost his wife. I remember it like he's sitting next to me now. He was completely deflated, looking for answers, fighting back tears and I was listening.

Another group of people talking enthusiastically about what they got from the seminar simply wanted to say they enjoyed it, but, the topic was Faith, God, Creator.

A man from the group was elated because he prayed/his church prayed during his wife's surgery and she was recovering and fixed basically.

The other man speaking with me lost his wife. She actually passed during a surgery. The irony.

For me to be without words...all I could do was grab this man's arm firmly but subtly and rub my thumb up and down his elbow while knodding while this other man was sharing he was rejoicing. If my loved one made it through brink's death, who wouldn't rejoice?

The other man's last words were, "just goes to show you how the power of prayer works!"

The other man pulled away from my thumb and all I could feel was he just wanted to die, as if he hadn't prayed hard enough.

Faith, Soul is a complicated science and miracles lay between both smile

Let me know how your brother is doing, Skyelaw! Please.

Eleise, what a sad story. That poor man, how devastating that must have been for him to hear.

It was a reality thing, I guess. I couldn't believe the irony.

So since then, I've (well I thought I was already open) but since that particular situation I've been even more open to hearing everything that people experience and feel and if possible from an almost intersection type or arial view, I know Faith is what gets us from one harsh situation to the other side. It isn't about who is right or wrong, Faith is what inspires us to pick ourselves up and start a fresh way to go forward. smile

I have a very dear friend that gave me a quote about Faith once. I don't know who it is by, but it has always stuck with me and comforts me when I have difficulty or lack of perspective on something.......it goes like this..... When you have come to the end of all of the knowing that you have, and you are ready to step out into the darkness of the unknown, Faith says you will be given something firm to stand on or you will be given wings to fly! Still gives me chills just to think it even after many years. Truth is a personal perspective as is belief, what ever it is that you believe is your personal truth, but not necessarily any one elses. Faith to me means embracing the unknown and the unknowable and acting in the best way you know how while leaving the outcome to the unexplainable mystery that exists in this amazing universe......your soul knows the way when your conciousness may not. Faith calls the soul to action.

I like that Paula and I've got to tell you my wings have been getting a work out, lol!

I also like "Faith calls the Soul to action." Often during a consultation or just in passing, someone might share, "I've been praying..." for a specific outcome, basically, and they might ask "Do you think it's working, do you think I'll get...?"

I'll usually say something like, "Well, prayer never takes away from a situation and often opens doors we might not otherwise have seen."

That is a beautiful quote, Paula. Thanks for sharing it with us. I have that poem (Faith Poem, by Patrick Overton) in my "Book of Quotes" that I often read for reinforcement when I need faith.

Thank you all! and thank you Phyllis for giving us the author of that quote I really love it and now I know who to credit it too! You are so right Eleise, many time perople are so focused on a perticular outome that they are not able to see that the powers that be have answered their prayer! as it is not in the way that they expect or does not match the picture in their head. So they miss it entirely and loose their faith because of narrow mindedness or judgment that the prayer must be answered in a specific manner. Trusting that God, or the universe or what ever it is you like to call the higher power, knows better what will fill your prayer is yet another act of faith. I believe miracles happen all the time but they don't mean anything if you do not notice them!!! When you do notice they happen even more frequently.....in my life there are no coincidences or accidents only miracles that I do not fully understand. Just like the day I found this site, I was feeling very misunderstood and alone because of my abilities and my way of seeing the world. So a miracle happened and I fould a wealth of people who understand and discuss the things I know about and have experienced...... like it was the weather. Thank you Elise for your space on this web site, and to everyone here for your candid conversations and openness about things that most of the world label crazy.

Thank you Paula!

I've been weighing so many things lately. One of which, well, lol, how much what I write about is actually doing?

This past year has been, uh, just unthinkable and just now I'm seeing some signs of recovery, from an accident I had last year.

So, (the irony) it wasn't bad enough before I was slow (chronically)/dyslexic, but the head injury just blindsided w/blank outs (memory-loss) and depth perception/double vision everyday, periodically.

I re-read an article I wrote recently and just hung my head like, "What are you talking about?" I fixed it, but boy could I see where I would just leave off and almost start another article or thought process.

But your words, right there, thats a miracle! I had been praying/meditaing for clarity.

I use to half joke, that everything I learned, I learned from my garden...It all works! There isn't one thing that doesn't fit, good or bad, in the functioning as a whole.

The garden, well, it's like an aquarium, of life. Good or bad, it all pumps fuel into the pulse of it all. And the stuff that does make us feel half crazy? We would be less for going without it. ((hugs))
