I am not going to involve myself in any more topics on psychic abilities or clairvoyance because it seems my views upset people. I will stick to Islam and what I know.

How I see the human race, is as a bunch of stagnant egos clashing to be the one who is 'right'. No one wants to learn anymore.

The information highway is clogged with TOO MUCH information. No one can see the wood for the trees.

There can only be ONE 'right' but most humans never see it.

I am sorry if I upset you Elleise, I hope you enjoyed your Ding Dong! A ding dong in English slang does not mean a cake lol.

Peace

i believe a hundred per cent that we are not alone on this planet, in fact i know were not. the new inventions coming out here and there prove this, from notes written by leonardo da vinci, and other scholars of years ago we see every thing coming true. da vinci designed a helicopter but didnt have the fuel to get it off the ground, take the television for example, microchips, the stealth fighter and bomber, laser beams, and many more. these inventions probably didnt happen by accident although the tv did do? 1 man in scotland and another in america with very similar ideas. another wonder is nuclear fuel and weaponry, we have had some outside help im sure? just like the pyramids, the egyptians didnt build them at all without help? theres nothing documented down in egypt to say how they were built because they dont know simple as that, the people couldnt read or write hence the hieroglyphics which are pictures.

For each culture/religion that doesn't believe in reincarnation there is one which does. There may actually be more that do than those which don't.

For me, each religion has value and truth. However, each religion also has other things. Dogma, customs, limitations based on one person's interpretation of the religious text, which may suit the logic of many, but may not suit my logic at all.

The Creator gives each of us a brain to use in this life. We are each unique and a religion which completely fulfills one person, may not be as fulfilling for another.

Growing up Southern Baptist and studying the Bible for years, there were things in my life not addressed within the religious text. There were issues I faced for which the Bible had conflicting information and guidance. For me it was a horrible "Catch 22" situation. Was I to ignore and suppress these things which are a part of me, how I was created? Or was I to utilize these abilities with my logic to make the most of my potential as directed?

I chose to find that which met my needs, fulfilled me spiritually and released me from the "Catch 22." Since I am of American Indian heritage, collective memory may have guided me in some way to what was right for my heart and my head.

I fully respect the beliefs of others. I have not walked in their shoes, I have not shared their experiences, I have no access to their logic, I am not to judge. But, as with so many, my respect for others' beliefs is often not reciprocated. Freqently this is demonstrated in the quoting of religious texts.

I've had so many quotes "flung" at me with judgemental intention, it can be hard to keep calm when they are shared with respect and for informational purposes. My protection instinct born from all the hurtful things said in the past engages. So many of us here share in this, yet are still respectful of what others believe, even though it may contradict what we personally accept and believe.

In 6 days I will be celebrating my 3rd year as a member of BellaOnline. I can honestly say the vast majority of members with whom I have had contact share in my eagerness to learn and communicate. With international membership and diversity, I feel our online community here is representative of the human race.
Any "stagnant egos clashing to be...right" have truly been very few and far between in my experience.

If it was a shortcoming to not foresee this topic would include theology in some manner, it was mine. Perhaps I should have included this additional information from the show.

James' family is Catholic. Catholicism, as well as Islam, exclude reincarnation from their tenets. Although the situation was contradictory to their beliefs, the parents did not suppress, ignore, or blame what was happening on some evil force. They chose to investigate and learn, to maintain open minds and hearts for the benefit of their son. My impression from their interview was they were able to reconcile what happened, and were at peace with their faith.

I have had several bizarre events in my life. Once I opened myself, I reached acceptance and reconciliation. While these may have challenged my faith and beliefs at the time, in the end, they were actually strengthened.

I do agree that too much information can be hazardous. It takes time, patience, persistence, and logic to search through all those "trees" to find the "wood" one is seeking. Freedom of any kind, including that of information, brings with it the necessity for personal responsibility. In spite of the hazards and responsibility, as an adult, I prefer freedom and too much information over the alternative.

The availability of information has certainly assisted in my search. I also agree with Linda's statement, in part. There can only be ONE 'right...' However I feel one's "right" beliefs and way of life may be as unique as each person. Our diversity and uniqueness are part of the human condition. Over the centuries there have been numerous attempts to quell or cage these. Although partially successful in the short-term, there has never been long-term success. With mutual respect and freedom we can each hopefully find our own "right" way.

I am ever thankful to have found mine, and equally thankful Linda has found hers.

Very well said, lcp. It is so heart warming to know that those who have different faiths/beliefs are able to accept each other for who they are. I have often said before that one of my most meaningful friendships was with a man who was Russian Jewish. With me being Christian with strong Lakhota beliefs blended in, the two of us had a lot to talk about. We each appreciated the other for the strong faiths we have.

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary with BellaOnline. You have been a valuable member of our community.

The story of the young mother who found her past life children in Ireland is a very touching story. What made it so amazing is that the adult children she met with confirmed everything she knew. I will have to get to the library and read the book again.

The people in the world of science seem to be opening up their visions a little wider now and this is a good thing. I have always believed in reincarnation and would like science to look into it further.

Like you, lcp, I admire and embrace those who are strong in their own faith, even if different than mine.

Going back to your original post, lcp, you said:

"I had heard of a scientist back in the 1800's who weighed people as they were dying. For one subject there was an immediate weight difference, but it was less than an ounce."

And Skyelaw brought up an interesting point:

"i dont think the soul weighs anything but as it is still pure energy it may be possible? you cant destroy energy it always exists thats why when someone sees an apparition or a sighting its energy that has been left behind. our bodies are made up of magnetic energy?"

My thoughts are:

Einstein demonstrated through the theory of relativity that neither mass nor energy were conserved separately, but that they could be traded one for the other and only the total "mass-energy" was conserved. The relationship between the mass and the energy is contained in his famous scientific equation, E = m c 2.

If a soul can weigh a minute amount, then a thought can weigh something, for a thought also is energy. My belief is that when the soul leaves the body, it takes with it the memories/thoughts of the subconscious to carry into the next journey/life. The soul and the thoughts are pure energy, so there is some weight to that.

Elleise,

Based on all these thoughts, do you feel any sense of weight when encountering clairvoyant contacts? When I have been visited by spirits, I sense not just a presence but also a feeling of slight heaviness to the air.

you make some really good points phyllis and its clear that we are on the same level, you are very educated in the soul experience and know exactly what happens i totally agree with you. some things you have said is as though you could read my mind what i was thinking, because its identical to what i believe and know, what i was shown in an n.d.e. no you cant destroy energy and we are magnetic in every detail, in fact everything alive is magnetic energy. the magnet itself is a mystical stone , we cant see its power with our eyes but feel it when its close to another magnets force field or attraction. life is truly amazing.

i have got my oldest brother here and he is worrying about his new diagnosed heart condition which is an irregular heart beat? he is concerned and thinks if he dies thats the end of it full stop. myself and my younger brother are explaining that we cant die and that we just move on to the next stage, my sister is feeling its the end also. no one dies -yes the physical body does but we just carry on in a new body on the other side or reincarnate again, having someone close like this thinking these things is unusual and mind blowing, its amazing how peoples thoughts change when they age. ive explained that when we pass over we enter into gods care? there are too many things we see today proving the existence of god, the distance between the sun from the earth is exact or we would freeze or burn if it wasnt.i have in the past proved to him by forecasting things that he knows have come true, even before they came to be. it looks like he needs some faith and i know he will get it if i have anything to do with it. for those that have no faith all is not lost.
