I think it depends on how you interpret "love"....

I know when I was younger, naive, I thought "love" was the infatuation I was feeling for a guy. Once I got to KNOW him as a person (his insides), I would find I did not LIKE him (lol).

And that is why now at age 52, I tell my only child age 23 (daughter), that while it is nice to think a guy is sexy or good looking or whatever - be very CAREFUL until you KNOW his insides.

Wish I knew this through all those years of wasted time and heartbreaks.

Dianne, my thoughts on this subject are going to be coming from the spiritual side of life. I believe in past lives and I believe it is possible to feel you know you love someone on first sight. If a couple was deeply in love in a past life and met in this life, then yes -- there can be love at first sight for the spirit knows and recognizes the loved one.

I would still caution to take it slowly though and do not jump into any commitments until you are sure of him and his true feelings. We are all on different levels of spiritual development and if he is on a lower level than you, he may not grasp the same feeling you are having, may not recognize your spirit.

Past Love Reborn

If you do not believe in past lives then I probably have not been able to give you the answer you are seeking. We each have our own truths.

There is a thread in this forum on "Soul Mates" that might interest you. Have You Met Your Soul Mate?

Many people believe in past lives, many do not -- some like to make fun of those who do -- some who are at peace with themselves will just let others have the right to their own beliefs without throwing criticism or sm... a.. remarks out.

I wish you luck and all the best.

I don't know about love at first site but I do believe in best friends at first site because it happened to me. The love part came later, but I had just gotten a new job (BIG DEAL new job, high pressure) & when I met all my new co-workers & was nervous, my throat was dry & sweated bullets! I already knew who he was when I first met him & my very first words to him were "Oh my God it's Adam Sandler!" (Slight resemblance) That could have messed up his first impression of me, thankfully he thought it was funny. I still don't know how I had that much courage, I was not in the least bit nervous. It was like we were already friends, nothing's ever happened like that to me in my whole life. The love part came later though. ;)

I am not so sure about love at first sight- and sometimes it's hard to even believe that there is even such a thing as love at all......I know I sound depressing huh? LOL

No, I dont believe you can just by passing by them or introducing yourselves to each other. However, I do believe that you can fall madly in love with someone by getting to know them and that the feelings you get from that can be so strong that you PERCEIVE love at first sight to be the only explanation.

If you dont have a lot of experience dating, youd immediately assume he/she is the one once you two clicked.
