I did try last week :), I went around and gave a few CV's out. It's a shame that nearly everywhere wanted me to apply on line first (that's the new way apparently LOL) I used to like going in and speaking to the manager etc. because as you say Lisa, you can convey your interest and confidence that way.

Hopefully, I'll get the chance to do that in some interviews soon though smile

I've been speaking with Phyllis here, and I think she's one of the loveliest people ever! She's been so helpful smile thanks Phyllis smile

I'm really trying to make everything better and more positive now, and I have to face that some things are out of my control - no matter how scary that is...

Thanks everyone smile

Dear Steven -

Even if they say to you that they need the resume online, you have still made that that initial contact and have presented your face. So now when they get the resume online they remember you! So don't look at it as a bad thing. Look at it as a great thing that you took the step to make sure your online resume stood out from the rest smile

blush Thank you, Steve. You are a beautiful soul.

Lisa has a lot of good advice. When one thing does not work for you, she looks for other ways and approaches.

Have you tried something different than what you normally would apply for? Maybe a type of job that provides "on the job training"? When my nephew first came to Nevada it was very difficult for him to find a job. While waiting for that right job to come up, he applied at a large pet store chain that provided on the job training. It gave him enough income to keep going -- plus, he so enjoyed the kittens and puppies, lizards and other pets.

I've always wanted to work with animals, so I'm thinking about spending more time at the Cats protection league - you can go there just to smoothe the cats smile which sounds great to me, and it helps them out.

Thank-you Lisa and Phyllis, you're both full of great advice. On a higher note as well I've finished my book smile and am feeling slightly better in myself.

Congratulations on the completion of your book, Steven. king This is wonderful news. I pray for all good things to come of it.

It seems like comforting animals, especially cats, will be a very good thing for you.

I am so glad to hear you are feeling better within. smile Good for you!

Steven that is so awesome that you've finished your book. And I think it's so cool that you've kept this thread going! It's so important to have support on our journey! You've inspired me to rejuvenate my thread Steven, thanks!
