I wouldn't feel worse
The proximity alone tells me there's an ongoing connection there, that you can pop in on and pretty much pick up where you left off.
Even if you don't know exactly what the little girl is trying to express, look to common denominators in what she feels complelled to show you. For instance, She strikes me as an individual that might get bored easily but has a mind that works naturally with complexities.
I don't know how the parents are, if they are easy going, but have you seen those computer skins that make all sorts of geometrical designs to the rythm of music? She might enjoy seeing something like that or something she can fool around with on her own, on the walls of her room? I don't really know what's out there, but she strikes me as a creator.
Beethoven is just one of many musical fashions out there, she might like a mix or may prefer, piano to violin or vs versa.
What's really great in the scheme of things is that almost always, a child has just as much to teach us, if not more so, because they haven't learned to curtail or hold back, as we do to them.
