I detail my car at least one a week. I agree that bird droppings and bugs are harmful to your finish and it should be removed immediately if possible because the acid is bird droppings and bugs causes pits in your enamel. I keep a couple of microfiber towels and Eagle One Nano Wax Spray in my trunk for this very reason. Even though today's enamels are stronger, corrosion resistant and more vibrant, protection is a must. Try waxing one a week with a spray wax after a wash and see how easy it is to keep it clean with very little effort. Since no one is giving away new cars, I figure it's best to preserve the one I have. Best wishes.
