At the moment I do not have a car, but plan on getting another one soon.

I have never had one "detailed" but always made sure I kept it washed and waxed to avoid damaging the finish.

Do you detail your car?

If yes, get it done professionally?

Do you feel it adds value to your car?

If no, any reasons for not doing this?

Oh how I wish!! My hubby has the car 90% of the time and he is a slob!! If you saw the outside and inside of it, you would cringe!

Hi Shanda:

I feel your pain. Right now I ride into my temp job with my daughter and the birds had left a gift on her hood and windshield. And you guessed it, we had to ride home with it still there. Yuk!

I told her she needs to carry something with her as she sometimes cannot find a parking spot away from those trees.

And I will not even bore you with how the inside of her car looks (lol).

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post.

Oh how funny, you know my poor car hasn't had a bath in months? Not even rain can clear off all the dirt! I really wish hubby would keep it up better, its quiet embarrassing!

Hi Shanda:

I reminded my daughter that certain things do eat into your car finish and that helps with her making an effort to clean it (lol). Hey, paint jobs are expensive...

And her car is white, so you know EVERYTHING shows up on it. Sometimes I cannot tell if the car is still white or is now gray from the dirt. Sad indeed!

Things eat into it? what? fill me in!!! Mine is green, supposedly.

I do know eggs are bad for it and dirt can scratch it..but not aware of other things.

I'm doing good to get hubby to keep the oil changed much less anything else! So frustrating as it is MY car that is getting trashed frown But its also the only car in the family smile

LOL Shanda:

Yes, the bird deposits do and a bug we call the "Love Bug" (they die after they mate, come out here in Florida twice a year - March & September).

Those are the only ones I am aware of.

UPDATE

We now have a car, but NO we do not detail it.

Hey, no spare cash to have it done and no time to do it ourselves.

Anyone do their own "detailing"....
