well said Madge. That reminds me of when my grandmother had altzheimers and was in a hospital wing for a few years before she died.
My gran didn't recognise my mum, but would talk constantly about her son ( my uncle, who never went to see her ) Mum went every week, and it was heartbreaking to see her cry afterwards.
When we were there, I didn't see any other visitors. - it was an awful place, as you can imagine.
This and many other observations made me believe the same as you - biology has nothing to do with eternal love. If you get it from family, it's a bonus.
I often wonder if not wanting kids has something to do with upbringing, or if it's in a persons genes ?
