That's so cool Jilly. I didn't think I'd get a bunch done as my daughter was home from her co-op today - and in fact, she won't be going all week. So I was busy with homeschooling today, but we had fun. I set her up with a writing assignment, and had her sit next to me. We did our "writing" together - it was great fun. I'll have to think about how we can handle the rest of the week now Dianne, I love homeschooling, and I chose to do it because I wanted to have more time with my kids - not because I necessarily love homeschooling LOL. My 13 year old son decided to attend public school this year, and he started in 8th grade. And he's easily as knowledgeable as his peers. And his transition into school was very easy. Go figure! My daughter is adamant that she will NEVER attend public school - but as she gets a bit older she may change her mind.

Today I will be homeschooling my daughter.... reading about Einstein, watching a baton lesson, and math.
Wait! YAY! Math is done!

Sounds like a nice, relaxing day, Dea.
I am heading up to Flagstaff to get my kayaks, which have been living for quite some time with a friend. We are going to go for a walk along one of the pretty urban trails that winds through a small canyon.
it will be nice to have a change of scenery.

Deanna, Are they thinking of going to college once they graduate?
I had a terrific time in DC today. We went to the Newseum. It cost $21 to get in but it was worth every penny: We spent about 5 hours there and STILL didn't get to see everything. The $21 gets you in for a 2nd day free, but we've got Arlington Cemetary and the Postal Museum planned for tomorrow.
We also went to the government printing office today, We tried to hit places that none of us have been before so the more off the wall places.

Hey Jilly, it was a nice relaxing day --- though we were majorly busy LOL!! It was easy busy though, so the day flew by. Just got back from baton lessons, washed up some dishes, and am getting stuff ready to meet with our educational specialist tomorrow - we homeschool through a charter school, and meet with their educators once a month. We always have a blast cuz we meet at a local coffee house. Did you enjoy your walk today? I bet your kayak was happy to see you

Wow Dianne - it sounds like you had an awesome day! I didn't even know what the Newseum was,so I googled it. It looks like a really interesting place. My son has only recently started talking about college. He's in 8th grade - and has been saying things like, "when I'm in college..." It makes me so happy And he was telling me the other day if he's really good in music, he might be able to get a music scholarship. My daughter on the other hand {she's in 6th grade} has no interest in college or even working LOL. I think she thinks she'll just live with us and let us take care of her forever. I'll give her another couple of years - I know when I was in 6th grade my future was just too much for me to think about LOL.

It was actually one of the most interesting museums I've been in. Very interactive. Looking at the front pages of newspapers was so interesting. We could have spent the entire day. We even ate in their foodcourt by Wolfgang Puck. The food was wonderful and reasonably priced. They had a section of the Berlin Wall. Also since the FBI closed for tours after 9/11, there is a lot of their stuff in there, plus they had a section with the pulitzer prize winning photos. It was just awesome beyond words.
A must see if you ever get to DC
When my daughter started visitng colleges last year, my then 7th grader suddenly took an interest.

I am so pleased - i got my kayaks and some of my furniture yesterday and went hiking with my buddy Chris. It was a lovely day. We wove a hat from cattail leaves and laughed til we were crying. I need more days like that.
Okay, TO DO TODAY: editor help emails, finish up romance class, call chris and leanne about friday in sedona, maybe make a vet run, review an amazon book, print out paperbackwap wrapper and mail book, give meds to john (even though they are not helping), update bills on calendar, write back pam and ramona and make plans with them (they both wrote to see if i was okay, which is nice), take stuff out of car that I grabbed from chris yesterday.
Take kayaks down and drag them into the shed (when it cools down tonite)
It's too hot to do laundry, too hot to do any mulch or work on the recycling - 104.5 today! WTF!

re - Cattail Hats. I did not have my phone on me. Chris has two pics but i don't know if he will get around the sending them my way. They are pretty cute photos though.
Big list today - fb clients, RC questions, editor help, call parents, text Russel (possible new hiking friend), plan out week and month, review the social network for blogs topic, review amazon book, add numbers to phone so i can get rid of the slips of paper that I will lose anyway, plan the bills for this month, call pam and ramona and chris about monday pm, call dan re - november plans, pick up meds at pharmacy, and also think of what else needs to be done!
Need to really focus on cleaning my plate so i can focus on my parents this week.
