Adjustment to my goals. Get credit cleaned up and save enough money to buy a permanent home in two years.

Great, lori, we can work with that. I have to run out the door for the day, but i have a lot of comments for you on your breakdown. Now choose another line item and break it down. We will see if your list is doable for one year's time after we've seen what everything entails!

Rebecca, that is such an awesome idea. My 8th grade son has entered into public school for the VERY first time this year. It was his decision, and he is really enjoying his experience. All he complains about is the U.S. History LOL!

Wow Lori, doesn't that sound easy now LOL! Really, I'm not being silly - it sounds much easier when it's laid out in those easy, manageable pieces.

Good Morning Ladies!
This thread has been so awesome! I have been trying to get two of my girlfriends to go in on goal-working with me, and they just aren't as into it as I am. These last couple of days working with this thread have really gotten me motivated, and WORKING again toward my goals.
I REALLY like how Jilly started her own goal thread. I think we each should do that, because it would be so much easier to keep track of each other that way. Is anyone else interested?

Definitely Deanna having a specific goal thread for each person so we can follow their progress would be great!

Have a summer music tour of the local faery and renaissance festivals.
Have a CD for sale on Amazon.
Have my facebook fan page set up - selling mp3s.
Get my music on Pandora radio and BellaOnline radio.
Loose 30 pounds. Those are great goals, and definitely doable! We can help with all of those! I sell DVDs on Amazon with CreateSpace, it is *very* easy. We can help you when you get your CD finalized.

Okay, Lori, let's see how this breaks down. I'd do the easy things first, just to get a sense of forward motion and satisfaction.
I think that getting an arborist in is easy. You have to look for one and have him come in and make a bid. That is a day or a few depending on when they can get out to see you. Then there is the day they actually come and look at your trees. So this is a few steps - find number, call them, get a bid, have them come out. But then DONE.
Side fences - can you do this or is this a handyman thing? Either way you can probably do this inside of a month.
Doing the overgrown plants should only be a weekend type affair.
Hedges - perhaps a few more weekends for this one.
Designing the hardscape will probably take the longest amount of time, but you can come up with ideas, sketches, look at magazines, etc all winter. This is the fun item! You can also discuss ideas in the gardening forum.
So really, most of your tasks are things you can either set aside full days for, or work on here and there, and everything is doable within the year.
What else ya got? let's discuss your item about maintaining vibrant health. That's a bit fuzzy. What specifics do you want to have happen within the year?

Well, I have diabetes that is pretty serious. It went uncontrolled for years and years. I began to drop weight without trying and now have diabetic neuropathy in both feet and legs. My kidneys are compromised. I'm on insulin now but without medical insurance yet, the cost is too high to afford.
Anyway, I joined a gym and the exercise has been wonderful. My blood sugar numbers are going down finally. But I'd like to keep my glucose level in the 100-120 range, lessen my dependence on insulin and eat a vegetarian/low carb diet. (Low carb for the diabetes and vegetarian for humane reasons.) I'd like to drop 30 pounds, have a stronger upper body and a flat stomach.
BTW, I'm going to put all the items you broke down for me on a calendar. I need a deadline! Gosh, thanks Jilly! I am really feeling as though I'm moving ahead!

Okay, Chi, based on what you wrote, here are your one year goals for your priority of health:
1. use the gym and the exercise at least ___ times a week (fill in the blank) 2. Keep my glucose level in the 100-120 range 3. Lessen my dependence on insulin by ____ much 4. be eating a vegetarian/low carb diet (Low carb for the diabetes and vegetarian for humane reasons.) 5. drop 30 pounds 6. have a stronger upper body 7. have a flat stomach
Do those sound good for one year health goals? I think those are good goals and they are getting to the specific part that can be measured. If you can fill in the blanks on those, we can talk about whether or not it's a lot to do in one year or not. These are things Lisa and Monica (weightloss, exercise) can help you with in their forums, and also Cindy in the Diabetes forum. And doesn't jason do the Vegetarian forum?
My sense is these things will be harder to accomplish than the gardening ones, but you DO have a year!
