Although me book is distributed by Ingrams and its on Amazon, B&N, Books-a-million etc... I was inspired by a self-published writer I met who was featured in the New York Times for having sold more than 14,000 copies of his two books [hand-to-hand] on the Train, over a 3 1/2 year period.
I'm not going to ride the Train to sale books, but I have vowed to:
1. Never leave the house without copies of my book
2. Sale 15 copies of my book per week [hand-to-hand]
As for my 2nd goal of publishing my 2nd book. Right now, my goal is to write 1000 words, 3 times per week.
How am I doing with my 1 year goals.
Since August, I've sold 6 copies of my book. [Mind you it's not released until Sept 18, 2010] I was just practicing. LOL!
As for my 2nd book, I only have 1100 words. I gotta step that up.

My goal is to get through ten classes toward my degree as well as extend my writing. I really want to get a course and an ebook completed here on BellaOnline. Doing that would really make my year.

Rebecca - those are awesome goals that cover a number of different areas! The ten classes, one course, and one ebook are nice and specific. What did you have in mind for "extend your writing"? The more specific you can make your goals, the better!
Also don't forget to have something in there for your health / serenity!

By extending my writing - develop better writing skills and understand better research methods. Health - Create a place to "get away" from everyone!

Have a summer music tour of the local faery and renaissance festivals.
Have a CD for sale on Amazon.
Have my facebook fan page set up - selling mp3s.
Get my music on Pandora radio and BellaOnline radio.
Loose 30 pounds.

ugh. I never reach my goals because I'm always changing my goals!!!
My one-year goals now are:
1. To take care of my elderly aunt and daughter. Keep them safe, healthy and happy.
2. Restore our new home. Landscape, etc.
3. Launch my business program online.(It's a surprise!)
4. Finish my first book.
5. Get some professional feedback for my children's books.
6. Continue to publish my articles and essays. Upload some e-booklets.
7. Maintain vibrant health.
Is that too many?
