This week I intend to start reading these two books:

"A Diamond in the Rough" by Jacqueline T. McDuffie

"Don't Hit Me No More" by Constance Freedman

Both are authors I met in person this past weekend at Atlanta's 1st Black Book Expo.

Please feel free to read along with me.

It will be at least 3-4 weeks before the either book will be featured. That should give anyone interested time to get the books and read them, so we can discuss them.

Next week, I'll mention the next two books on my reading list.

I've started reading "one" of the books listed on my reading list. I must admit. Just because someone is nice doesn't mean that I'll enjoy their material :-( I still don't have the heart to write a negative article about another writer. I will read those books that I list. However, I will probably omit the article of books I don't like. If you've read them, I'd still love to discuss them. But be gentle. Don't be cruel. Don't crush the dreams of others. Thanks.

Here's to hoping the "other" book on this reading list is "MUCH" better. Better in EVERYWAY. I won't be able to recommend this book to any of my readers. If you want to know which book I don't recommend, please send me an email. I won't openly post it nor write a negative review. That's just not my style.

Dianne,
How many books do you read per month? Do you post a book list of your favs anywhere?

I don't actually have a list posted. Between the full-time job, BellaOnline, and promoting my own book, due to be released Sept 18th, and writing my 2nd book...... right now, I only read 3-4 books a month.

I'm undecided about posting a reading list, because I like the luxury of not having to finish a book I dislike. Plus, when I get a "hot" book, I like being able to bump it ahead on my reading list, without worry that someone else is reading it and expects a discussion next week.

Basically, I'm still working that out.

I can tell you that next two books on my reading list so far...

"When the Truth Lies" by a new author [Timothy Michael Carson] I met here in ATL last month. Presented by Zane. I expect it to be hot and steaming.

"An Inconvenient Friend" by Rhonda McKnight. I recently met her for the 1st time at her Book Release Party.
