Well, I'm interested in some basic recipes I can make with ingredients I can easily get at most markets. Including some Japanese food would add some variety to what I eat.

My favorite Japanese food is sushi, shrimp tempura, and all seafood. Those of you who never tried sushi (fish with rice), you don't have to start with the raw fish versions. There are plenty of cooked version of sushi to start with....so you can learn to appreciate this delicious delicacy. Then slowly graduate to California roll which is a maki roll with just a small bit of raw tuna. A great cooked sushi roll is the Spider Roll made with FRIED SOFT SHELL CRAB. (No spiders...LOL) Give it a try and expand your cuilinary world.
