Thanks BoomerGal for taking the time to answer my questions. I will definately do some affiliate research to see what is out there and what is right for my site. Since it is geared to helping people "survive unemployment" - maybe I can get something that will benefit the unemployed while it benefits me. For example, maybe a "resume service" that will give an unemployed person a "complimentary" service.
Affiliates-these are VERY easy to get for your website. Amazon is a great one. You sign up for free and then put relevant products on your websites. I do book reviews or product reviews and then put a link to people can buy it on Amazon.
If there is a product or company relevant to your site, check to see if they have an affiliate program. Be aware though, that most have a minimum amount before they pay out so you might never make enough to get a check with some.
Click Bank is another one that is free and easy to use. You find ebooks to sell on your website and the commissions are usually fairly high with those.
